Polystyrene - the all-rounder among plastics

Our white polystyrene plastic sheets are available in thicknesses from 1mm to 5mm and are coloured throughout in a bright white shade similar to RAL 9003. Our polystyrene sheets are opaque and, unlike the usual polystyrene sheets available on the market, have increased impact strength. This makes our white PS sheets not only of higher quality, but also more durable than comparable products with lower impact strength. Our polystyrene sheets have a beautiful white matt surface on both sides with a high surface hardness.

Properties of our matt polystyrene sheets in white

Polystyrene is a versatile and easy-to-process plastic and is guaranteed to be found in every household and office. It can already be thermally deformed at comparatively low temperatures. For this reason, polystyrene is very often used for the production of children's toys, office utensils, packaging, and much more. Polystyrene is also used in model making and model kits of true-to-scale vehicles, components and body parts of RC models or model railways are made of this inexpensive thermoplastic.

Processing polystyrene in white

Polystyrene can be processed in almost every conceivable way without specialist knowledge. Cutting polystyrene to size with a simple saw or router is no problem. Finer work on shape and size can be done with an arrow or sandpaper and drilling through polystyrene is also child's play with any standard metal drill.

Polystyrene can be bent, twisted or otherwise deformed under the influence of heat even at relatively low temperatures and also has excellent deep-drawing properties, so that the production of very individual shapes is easily possible. All that is needed is an oven at home and a hoover like those found in every household. There are many videos on YouTube with instructions from so-called hobby thermoformers.

Gluing or painting our white polystyrene is just as easy as gluing. Conventional modelling glue such as our crystal clear plastic glue Ruderer L530 is suitable for this.

NOTE: Our white polystyrene sheets with a matt surface do not have a protective film, so we recommend being careful when working on them, even though the matt surface has a high hardness and good impact strength.
