Our PLA filament for 3D printing in the color light green has a high pigment density and convinces by a smooth pigment distribution over the entire material cross section. This makes it ideal for 3D prints in continuous, bright green with all major 3D printers. Our PLA filament in light green is similar to the RAL shade yellow green with the number RAL6018. The plastic PLA, where PLA stands for polylactides, is environmentally friendly and is completely biologically recyclable. Based on the raw materials corn starch, potato starch or sugar cane, PLA is produced by the polymerization of the lactic acids contained in these substances. With a maximum deviation of +/- 0.05mm our PLA filaments in light green have a particularly high dimensional stability in terms of filament thickness, as well as an excellent roundness. These features ensure print results that meet the highest standards.

Our PLA filament in light green is easy to process and can therefore be regarded as an beginner filament. The same applies to our other filaments made from PLA (polylactic acids).
The low melting temperature of our filaments made of PLA allows processing even without a heated base plate or without a heated pressure bed. On the other hand, their disadvantage is their low heat resistance. With a resistance to temperatures of maximum 60°C, the thermal resistance is significantly lower than, for example, filaments made of ABS. ABS filaments have a temperature resistance up to 85°C. We therefore advise against the use of our PLA filaments in light green for the creation of objects that must withstand temperatures above 60°C. Over this temperature range, the strength of the PLA decreases significantly to the softening of the material. In addition to high temperature resistance, the impact strength of the green PLA filaments is lower than that of equivalent filaments of other plastics such as ABS filaments.
PLA filaments first score with excellent processing properties and high environmental compatibility due to their biodegradability. It contributes significantly to the safe use of the print object and to an unproblematic printing process. The so-called warp effect, what means a distortion or shrinkage of the printed object in the course of the cooling process, which can be seen in other filament materials, can be neglected. Thus, our PLA filament is optimally suited as a material for all 3D prints, which depend to a great extent on true-to-scale 3D prints, as well as on the dimensional stability of the object and its filigree details.
PLA filament in light green can be used with all standard 3D printers, which use the FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling). The necessary filament strength results from the requirements of the existing 3D printer. Common and used for the most 3D printers are our 1,75mm PLA filaments in green. Also widely used is the thickness 2,85mm (3,00mm). Different printer models are even able to use both strengths without technical conversion processes. The large number of manufacturers, as well as the barely manageable amount of available printer models leads to our recommendation to adjust the compatibility of a certain thickness of our light green PLA filament before the first use on the basis of the manual of your print.
NOTE: Depending on the type of your 3D printer, temperatures at the nozzle may vary significantly due to measurement inaccuracies and, as a result, temperature variations of your instrument. Therefore, when printing with our PLA filament in light green, it is recommended to observe the device settings of the 3D printer you are using. We suggest a pressure of about 200 ° C for the first pressure test. Depending on the result, however, this temperature may require even smaller adjustments and readjustments. Furthermore, the pressure temperature is influenced by factors such as the desired print resolution, the selected print speed, as well as the dimensioning of the existing heating nozzle.
The additional processing of our PLA filament in light green is well possible after the cooling of the printed object by drilling, sawing or milling. Because of the layered structure of objects in 3D printing so created objects often grooves or gradations. These can be easily removed with a fine sandpaper. Another possibility is the use of PLA-compatible solvents. The surfaces of the workpiece are vapor-deposited with the solvent and smoothed by a dissolution of the uppermost layer of material. Our recommendation for this process is the solvent tetrahydrofuran, whereby we explicitly point out the manufacturer's safety instructions and adequate ventilation. On the other hand, alternatives such as acetone should not be used as they can quickly lead to severe damage to the workpiece due to an uncontrolled reaction with PLA.
The further processing of objects from our PLA filament in light green should be done carefully and with careful use of force. Since the impact resistance of PLA is significantly lower than the strength of, for example, ABS plastic, objects from PLA tend to cause optical damage or break off fine details when strong processed. A coating of objects made of PLA filament is easily possible with suitable colors. The result is further optimized by the use of an adhesion-improving primer. The bonding of objects made of PLA filament is also possible with a suitable adhesive. Very large models can be implemented by the individual printing of sections and the subsequent gluing even with small printer models. It should be noted that various measures for post-processing of the printed objects can be reduced by the selection of alternative filament materials, or the use of different filament colors.
NOTE:Although our PLA filament in light green has a high insensitivity to ambient humidity, we recommend a dry and light-protected storage.
