Our bimetal hole saw with a diameter of 50mm allows cutting depths of up to 24mm. It is made of high-quality M42 steel with cobalt alloy in combination with high-speed steel (HSS) and a reverse tooth arrangement, which gives it excellent sharpness, high cutting precision and exceptional durability. The adapter with standard UNF 5/8-inch thread for mounting the drill bit is equipped with a sturdy triangular shank that ensures a secure hold and is compatible with both standard cordless screwdrivers and corded drills with a drill chuck. The 6 mm diameter centre drill bit made of profile-ground HSS steel guarantees precise drilling and can be replaced if necessary. A removable ejector spring made of robust steel reliably ejects the drill core, saving time and effort..
Quality that meets the highest standards – for professionals and doers
The 52mm hole saw is a versatile tool for numerous applications – indispensable in interior construction, installation work or furniture making. Its progressive alternating teeth enable precise and clean cuts in a wide range of materials: from soft to medium-hard wood, aluminium and other light metals to plastic, insulation and drywall panels. This makes the saw perfect for drilling holes in drywall, for example for drain pipes, ventilation connections for air heat exchangers or the installation of compact recessed spotlights. Cable feed-throughs, for example for TV sets, home office setups or desk solutions, can also be created cleanly and quickly, putting an end to cable clutter.
When it comes to clean, powerful drilling, quality is crucial. Our 52mm hole saw from our own brand S-Polytec impresses with maximum precision, enormous resilience and a durable design – perfect for anyone who values reliable results. Made from robust bimetal with a balanced combination of HSS steel and cobalt-alloyed M42 steel, it offers excellent wear resistance – even with frequent use and demanding materials. The progressive alternating teeth with a tooth spacing of approximately 7mm enable effortless sawing without jamming – whether in wood, HPL, metal or plastic. Well thought-out details such as the large ejection openings in the drill bit ensure that chips and drilling dust are quickly removed. The result: clean, precise drill holes with significantly reduced effort. This saves energy, protects the battery and makes the saw ideal for use with less powerful cordless screwdrivers.
To get you started right away, the set includes a matching adapter that can be easily screwed into the thread of the drill bit. This makes the hole saw compatible with all standard drill presses and cordless screwdrivers with standard drill chucks. The adapter has a sturdy triangular shank with a diameter of 9mm, which ensures a firm hold in the drill chuck – without slipping or spinning, even with harder materials or deeper holes. Alternatively, an SDS-Plus adapter can be used – the 5/8"-18 UNF thread complies with the common industry standard and is widely used for hole saws and diamond drill bits. The adapter supplied is used to hold the ground HSS centre drill with a 6 mm round shank and can be quickly and easily replaced using an easily accessible grub screw. This allows the drill bit to be flexibly adapted to the material – for example, to an HSS drill bit for metal, a wood drill bit with centring tip or, for particularly hard materials such as HPL, to a solid carbide drill bit with a diameter of 6mm. For maximum precision – every time.
The S-Polytec hole saw with a diameter of 52mm opens up a wide range of applications. It is often used in heating and plumbing to create precise pipe feed-throughs for heating pipes or drain pipes for bathtubs, showers or washing machines. It is also ideal for cutting wall feed-throughs for the siphon under the sink or washbasin. In addition, the hole saw is used for installing cable outlets in walls or furniture, for example when laying power cables for TVs, projectors and loudspeakers. It is also frequently used for attaching extractor hoods or ventilation elements that require a precise recess. Thanks to its high-quality workmanship and selection of durable materials, the hole saw is versatile and suitable for cutting various materials such as soft and medium-hard woods, light metals such as aluminium and copper, but also insulation boards, drywall panels, aerated concrete, plastic panels and HPL façade panels. This combination makes the hole saw an indispensable tool for craftsmen and DIY enthusiasts who need precise and clean cuts in a wide variety of materials.
Well centred for optimum guidance
When drilling into drywall, wooden furniture or light metal panelling, the centre drill bit supplied ensures a precise starting point. With a diameter of 6mm, it is ideally suited for use with the hole saw and enables precise drilling – without pre-drilling. The profile-ground tip made of high-quality HSS steel and the proven tip angle of 118 degrees ensure effortless penetration even in more demanding materials such as metal or HPL panels. The length of the drill bit is designed so that it can be easily positioned without the drill bit obscuring the mark. At the same time, it ensures stable guidance of the hole saw and thus a clean cut without tilting. In conjunction with the progressive alternating teeth of the saw blade, even deep holes up to the maximum cutting depth of 24mm can be drilled without any problems – cleanly, safely and efficiently.
EXPERT TIP: For wood materials, simply use a 6mm wood drill bit instead of the HSS drill bit supplied.
Effortlessly cut the perfect circle
The design of this hole saw is uncompromisingly geared towards precision, efficiency and durability. Thanks to the clever Vario teeth and the side openings in the crown wall, drilling dust is reliably removed, which not only ensures clean cuts but also significantly reduces heat build-up. This means less wear, higher speeds and smoother running – ideal for use with low-torque cordless screwdrivers. The robust 9 mm triangular shank sits securely in the drill chuck and prevents slipping, even with harder materials. Perfect for perfectly round cut-outs and anyone who wants to work professionally and reliably.
Drill core out? No problem.
With most drill bits, removing the drill core is often tricky because it usually gets stuck in the bit wall. Our hole saw has a rigid steel spring that pushes the circular cut-out forward. Once this is removed by the centring drill, the core can be pushed out from the rear or side through the long holes using a screwdriver. This is also quite easy, as the core is smaller due to the inward-sloping teeth of the alternating teeth and therefore cannot jam so easily.
