Our S-Polylight LED recessed spotlights with 3W power are ideal as an extension to our complete sets, allowing up to 12 recessed spotlights to be connected to a single LED power controller. The dimmable spotlights achieve a brightness of 250 lumens. With a colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin, the compact LEDs shine in a white that lies between neutral and cool blue-white, thus contributing to largely colour-neutral lighting in both indoor and outdoor areas. The solid aluminium housing with weatherproof powder coating in black, anthracite, silver or white has an outer diameter of 36mm. The hole required for installation is therefore very small at 28mm. The minimum installation depth is also only 29mm, so that the spotlight fits easily into tight ceilings and can be installed without any problems. Each spotlight comes with a 5-metre connection cable that is connected to the controller's hub via a simple plug connection.

The outdoor recessed spotlight with dust and splash protection (protection class IP65) is equally suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and, thanks to its extremely compact dimensions, can also be used in confined spaces, for example within the aluminium rafters of a patio roof. With hollow profiles, which are typically used in this context, the cable can be laid invisibly inside the struts. Despite their functionality, our LED power controllers are also very compact and can easily be installed behind the cladding of the wall end profile.

Features of the painted Ø36 mm recessed spotlights

The S-Polylight LED recessed spotlights type DR-SP3K are dimmable LED spotlights with a power output of 3 watts. The light colour of these compact spotlights has a colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin, which corresponds to a cool white without an obtrusive blue cast. The dimmable LEDs achieve a maximum brightness of 250 lumens, which corresponds to a luminous efficacy of 76 lumens per watt. The permanently installed 5050 SMD LED achieves a beam angle of 45° thanks to the integrated reflector and, depending on the installation situation, distance and application, is equally suitable for both highly directional and subtle background lighting. The colour rendering index of our spotlights is >80 Ra, which is suitable for good neutral colour rendering.

With an installation diameter of 28mm and an installation depth of 29mm, the LED spotlight impresses with its very compact dimensions. The outer diameter is also small at 36mm, making the recessed spotlights ideal for discreet lighting in furniture or patio roofs where very little space is available due to the design. The solid aluminium housing is powder-coated and available in anthracite, black, silver and white. The coating is scratch-resistant and UV-resistant, and will not yellow or fade due to weathering.

An S-Polylight LED Power Controller or LED SmartHome Controller with an output voltage of 12 volts is required for the power supply. Both have a hub to which up to 12 lights can be connected in order to dim or switch them on using the corresponding radio remote control. A controller is not included with the individual LED spotlights and can be purchased separately. Thanks to pre-assembled cables with different plugs, connection is child's play and can be done completely without tools using simple screw and plug connections. This applies to both the short connection cable on the recessed spotlight and the 5-metre-long connection cable. A notch in the screw connection prevents the plug from being inserted the wrong way round. The two-pin plug at the other end of the connection cable is also protected against incorrect polarity and is plugged into the controller's distribution hub. In most cases, 5 metres is more than sufficient. However, there is the option of extending the distance with a 5-metre connection extension. This cable is simply connected between the spotlight and the actual connection cable by plugging it in and screwing it tight.

Installation and connection of compact recessed spotlights

The S-cool white LED spotlights are small recessed spotlights that are inserted into a hole drilled for this purpose and held securely in position with clamping brackets. The hole required for installation must have a diameter of 28mm. For this purpose, we recommend our precisely fitting 28mm bi-metal hole saw, which is suitable for wood, drywall materials and aluminium.

NOTE:Due to the high tension of the spring clips, care must be taken when inserting the spotlight to avoid trapping your fingers.

The recessed spotlight has a short connection cable to which the connection cable included in the scope of delivery is connected. This must be laid towards the controller with the small white plug. Particular care must be taken with sharp-edged feed-throughs to ensure that the insulation is not damaged. The white contact plug is simply inserted into one of the 12 slots on the hub, which is permanently connected to the power supply unit. On the other side is a two-pin plug, which is inserted into the coupling of the LED spotlight and then screwed tight. A small seal inside the screw connection seals it to protect against moisture.

NOTE:The connection between the connection cable and the recessed spotlight has a notch on the underside of the plugs, preventing the poles from being reversed. Turn the plastic screw connection clockwise by hand only to ensure a dust- and splash-proof cable connection.

Once the LED spotlight is complete, it can be installed. To do this, press the two spring clips towards the connection cable and insert them into the mounting hole. Care must be taken here, as the clamping clips have a high spring tension to ensure that the recessed spotlights hold firmly and securely in the opening. This can be done easily and safely by pressing the clips together with one hand and holding the spotlight on the outer frame with the other. Once the spring clips have been inserted through the mounting hole, slowly slide the spotlight into the hole until the housing rests on the surface.
