The S-Polylight LED recessed spotlight complete set in anthracite is available in sets of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mini spotlights and includes not only the LED spotlights but also a multifunctional LED power controller with radio remote control and a connection cable for each spotlight. All connections are pre-prepared so that installation can be carried out without specialist knowledge or tools using simple plug connections or screw connections. The high-quality recessed spotlights impress with their very small installation dimensions of Ø28mm and a minimum depth of 29mm. The outer diameter is also only 36mm, so that the tiny spotlights can even be installed in the struts of patio roofs. The solid aluminium housing is powder-coated in anthracite grey and complies with RAL colour RAL 7016. As lighting for indoor and outdoor use, not only is the powder coating UV-resistant, but the housing and connections are also protected against dust and splash water in accordance with protection class IP65. The colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin corresponds to a cool white that is very similar to daylight at midday. Ideal for bright, colour-accurate illumination that creates an atmospheric ambience on the patio or as accent lighting in living spaces – without any annoying blue cast.
The Ø28mm bi-metal hole saw is also included!
The S-Polylight LED recessed spotlight complete set in elegant anthracite combines modern technology with timeless design. All necessary components – from the LED power controller and connection cables to the convenient 2.4 GHz remote control – are included, making installation quick and easy. The compact spotlights blend harmoniously into carports, patio roofs or modern façade elements, lending any outdoor area a high-quality ambience. Thanks to the radio remote control, the spotlights can be conveniently switched on and off, dimmed and adjusted to the desired mood at any time from a distance of up to 30metres. At the touch of a button, you can create bright light for safety and orientation or subtle lighting that bathes outdoor living areas in a stylish evening ambience.
NOTE: The quantity of LED recessed spotlights and 5m connection cables corresponds to the selected set size.
The compact mini LED spotlights combine very small dimensions with a modern look and high-quality materials. The robust aluminium housing in stylish anthracite grey (RAL 7016) blends seamlessly into modern carports, patio roofs or facades in anthracite thanks to its UV-resistant powder coating. With an installation diameter of only 28mm and a depth of 29mm, the spotlights can be discreetly integrated even in the tightest of spaces, while sturdy clamping brackets ensure a firm, secure hold. Thanks to protection class IP65, the spotlights can withstand wind and weather and elegantly illuminate patios, entrance areas or walkways. They also come into their own indoors: as atmospheric accent lighting in stairwells, bathrooms or cupboards, where subtle lighting perfectly complements modern living concepts. The high-quality 5050 SMD LEDs emit a neutral, cool white light of 6000 Kelvin without any annoying blue cast, similar to daylight at midday. With a power consumption of only 3 watts, each spotlight delivers 190 lumens and can be conveniently dimmed via remote control – for the perfect lighting atmosphere at any time of the day or night – from high-contrast lighting with high colour fidelity to atmospheric lighting on the terrace at dusk.
The S-Polylight LED Power Controller is more than just a standard 12-volt power supply, as its compact housing also accommodates a 2.4 GHz radio receiver and an integrated dimmer. The 90cm long connection cable with a Euro plug on one end and the HUB with 12 slots for the connection cables of the LED spots on the other end are permanently connected, so that no tools are required to start up the controller. Between four and twelve DR-SP3K LED spots (or DR-SP3W for warm white LEDs) with a single output of 3 watts can be connected to an LED power controller.
The power controller comes with a handy wireless remote control that makes controlling the LED lighting particularly convenient. It allows you to switch the lights on and off, dim them continuously in 10 or 20 per cent increments, and has direct selection buttons for individually preset lighting moods. Thanks to 2.4 GHz wireless technology, there is no need for a line of sight to the receiver, meaning that the spotlights can even be reliably controlled through walls – with a range of up to 30 metres. The compact housing made of shock-resistant ABS plastic in black fits comfortably in the hand, while the rubberised buttons provide a pleasant feel when pressed. On the back is a small battery compartment for two 1.5-volt AAA batteries, which are required to operate the remote control. These are not included in the scope of delivery.
The LED spotlights are recessed spotlights that are held securely in the mounting openings by spring clamps. Cut-outs with a diameter of 28mm are required for installation. Each complete set includes a high-quality bi-metal hole saw so that installation can begin immediately. The saw is versatile and suitable for various materials such as light metal, plastic, plasterboard, aluminium composite panels or HPL and wood-based materials. A precision-ground HSS-G drill bit in Ø6mm guarantees precisely centred holes and can be easily changed using a small grub screw if necessary. The integrated ejector spring makes it easy to remove the drill cores. Thanks to the sturdy triangular shank, the hole saw can be securely clamped into all standard drill chucks, so that it can be used with any commercially available cordless screwdriver.
The LED lighting can be installed in just three simple steps. All necessary materials are included in the delivery. Even the 28mm hole saw is included, so installation can begin immediately after delivery. All you need is a cordless screwdriver and two 1.5-volt AAA batteries for the remote control.
1. Drilling the mounting holes
First, the positions for the recessed spotlights are determined, taking into account a minimum installation depth of 29mm. It is also important to ensure that the connection cables to the power controller can be laid without any significant obstacles. Then, holes with a diameter of 28mm are drilled. Each complete LED set comes with a suitable bi-metal hole saw that can be easily clamped into standard cordless screwdrivers. The integrated centring drill ensures that the holes are drilled precisely at the marked position. Depending on the material, the speed should be adjusted when drilling.
2. Wiring the spotlights
After drilling the installation holes, the cable is laid. The cable from the LED spotlight is routed so that the small white 2-pin plug is connected to the power controller, as this will later be plugged into the HUB. Although the cable is robustly insulated, sharp edges should be avoided and the cable should not be under tension to prevent damage. If the standard length of 5 metres is not sufficient, the connection can be extended to 10 metres using the screw-on plug contact on the spotlight and an optionally available extension cable. The next step is to connect the plug connection on the spotlight to the connection cable. An indentation prevents incorrect connection. This is important because LEDs do not work if the polarity is reversed. Tightening the plastic screw connection with integrated rubber seal by hand creates a reliable seal against dust and splash water in accordance with protection class IP65, which is crucial for outdoor use. Only now are the spotlights carefully inserted into the prepared openings with the clamping brackets. Finally, the other end of the cable with the white plug is inserted into a slot on the HUB – here too, the special shape ensures that incorrect polarity is not possible.
3. Coupling the controller
Before plugging the power cord into the socket, insert the batteries into the remote control and keep it handy. As soon as the LED power controller is connected to the mains, the LED spots will light up. Now press the mode button in the centre of the round brightness control within five seconds to establish the connection between the controller and the remote control. After that, the lighting can be conveniently switched on and off by radio and dimmed continuously. If several controllers are to be controlled with one remote control, the pairing button must be held down a little longer so that all devices are correctly connected to the system one after the other.
WARNING:To prevent damage to property and personal injury, the LED spotlights may only be connected to the S-Polylight Power Controller DR-CON36W or DR-HOME36W with SmartHome functions using the connection cables included in the scope of delivery or optionally available S-Polylight connection extensions. Other 12V power supplies may restrict the functions. Direct connection to the 230 V mains supply is not permitted – there is a risk of death!
