HPL sheets in RAL7035 (light grey) cut to size

ETB approval ✓ Weatherproof ✓ Waterproof ✓ Flame-retardant ✓

Our HPL panels in light grey are available cut to size in thicknesses of 6mm and 8mm up to a size of 1500mm x 1000mm at favourable prices. The two decorative surfaces are evenly coloured and resemble the colour RAL 7035 (light grey). The layered structure in the manufacturing process creates a firm, stiff compact board with outstanding weatherproof properties. Several layers of kraft paper for the core and grey decorative paper for the surfaces are soaked in resins and pressed together under very high pressure. Due to the high inherent rigidity of HPL panels, they are mainly used as cladding panels in interior and exterior areas. For the commercial construction of balcony cladding, our HPL panels in light grey also have the necessary ETB approval.

Our light grey HPL panels are UV and weather resistant as weatherproof cladding panels. The hard decorative surfaces are non-porous and can be easily cleaned without much effort. To protect the grey decorative surfaces from scratches and damage during processing, the HPL sheets have an easily removable protective film on one side.

Properties of our HPL panels in light grey

HPL panels are very often used for facade cladding. As weatherproof panels with an attractive surface decor, HPL is characterised by very good UV resistance as well as very good weather resistance. HPL compact panels can be used permanently outdoors even under the most adverse weather conditions and continuous UV radiation. The solid sheets are considered water-resistant, with a very low mass increase of no more than 5%. The temperature range of the grey panels extends from -30°C up to +80°C. This means that the grey HPL is frost-resistant and heat-resistant, even in the case of rapid, strong temperature changes.

In order for our HPL panels in light grey to be used as balcony surrounds, they meet the criteria of the ETB approval in the thicknesses 6mm and 8mm. This is a very important aspect, because the erection of balcony cladding as privacy screens or as partitions is a very frequent field of application for the weatherproof cladding panels.

While HPL compact boards are usually considered combustible, our grey HPL boards are classified as flame-retardant according to the European standard DIN EN 13501-1 B - S2, D0, which is comparable to the fire behaviour DIN 4102 B1.

Thanks to the non-porous surfaces of our HPL panels, cleaning dirt is very easy. For light soiling, it is sufficient to clean the surfaces with clear water and clean, soft wipes. Stubborn dirt, such as graffiti, can usually also be removed effortlessly with organic solvents such as Acteon or methylated spirits.

WARNING: Abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or polishing agents are unsuitable for cleaning the surfaces as this may scratch or damage the grey surfaces.

Approvals and standards for HPL panels in light grey (RAL 7035)

  • Flame retardant according to DIN EN 13501-1 B-s2, d0 (comparable with DIN 4102 B1) Flame retardant
  • Balcony approval in accordance with ETB guideline "Components that protect against falling
  • Our HPL panels are classified as A+ according to the standard on VOC emissions
  • FSC certified (ecologically sustainable and socially responsible forestry)

HPL is free from hazardous substances such as heavy metals, organic halogens (fluorine, bromine, chlorine, etc.) or asbestos. It can also be recycled very well and is considered an environmentally friendly material because our HPL is FSC-certified. It also meets the strict guidelines of the standard on VOC emissions and is classified as A+, so that the strict tolerance values for chemical emissions are not exceeded at any time with our grey HPL panels. Indoor use, for example for the production of high-quality interior fittings, as partition walls or in furniture construction, is therefore possible without further ado with our light grey HPL. Furthermore, our HPL panels are considered physiological.

Precise HPL blanks in light grey - buy cheap online

We deliver your HPL sheets cut to size - saving you time and money.

Instead of cutting the HPL sheets yourself, you can conveniently order your desired sizes online. This not only saves you time for cutting, but also money, because you only pay us for the cuts you need. We use the offcuts for further cuts and do not charge you for them. In addition, you can dispense with the purchase of specially hardened saw blades made of solid carbide, which are necessary for sawing HPL.

The cutting is done on one of our modern panel saws for horizontal cutting. These are equipped with a separate control system that saws the panels with two different saw blades in two passes. In the first pass, the surface is scored with a small saw blade. This gives us a flawless cut edge on the underside. In the following saw cut, the panel is sawn through with a second, larger saw blade. This saw blade with a special saw tooth arrangement is set with a very high saw blade projection. This allows us to achieve impeccable cut edges on both sides with very small tolerances of maximum +/-1mm.

In our online shop, you can order HPL blanks in light grey up to a size of 1500mm x 1000mm in 6mm or 8mm thickness. Larger blanks are possible on request, but the shipping costs must be calculated individually, because these can no longer be sent via standard shipping on pallets. Our stocked HPL sheets have a standard format of 3050mm x 1300mm. This means that cuts up to this size can also be ordered. Simply send us your enquiry by email stating the desired dimensions, the thickness and the required quantity and we will immediately send you your customised, low-priced offer including shipping costs.

Processing of the HPL panels in light grey

HPL can be processed by sawing, milling or drilling and should be treated similarly to hardwood, as HPL panels are comparably hard. For this reason, specially hardened saw blades or milling heads should be used, because conventional saw blades and milling cutters for woodworking wear out extremely quickly when cutting the cladding panels. Nevertheless, even with hardened saw blades made of solid carbide or diamond-tipped saw blades, care should be taken to keep the speed low. This reduces the heat generated during sawing, which can otherwise cause the tool to anneal, making it blunt and unusable.

It is also advisable to reduce the speed when drilling fixing holes. To avoid chipping when the drill comes out, we recommend our special facade panel drill for HPL. These have a centring point and a special drill head shape that also allows free-hand drilling without damage. Hole drilling can certainly be carried out with carbide or HSS drills. However, the light-grey HPL panels should rest completely on a firm base so that the decorative surface of the reverse side is not damaged by splintering or chipping when the drill exits.

TIP: With our portal milling machines, we can drill the holes for you. In addition, edge processing (e.g. chamfers) or individual shapes deviating from the rectangular format of the conventional saw cut are also possible. Just give us a call. We will be happy to advise you in detail about our milling service.

To match our light grey HPL panels, we offer HPL screws in light grey at particularly favourable graduated prices. The screws are made of stainless steel in a high-quality A4 steel alloy and have a head lacquering that has been matched exactly to the light grey facade panels in terms of gloss level and colour shade. The screws are suitable for fastening the panels to a substructure on wood.

Instead of screws, the HPL panels can also be glued to the wall. Due to the comparatively high weight, an assembly adhesive with very high adhesive strength should be used for this. Our MS Polymer Parabond 600 in grey meets this requirement and is characterised by a very high initial adhesive strength. The grey assembly adhesive adheres to almost all solid substrates that are common in the construction industry. Despite the high initial adhesion, the panels should be sufficiently fixed until the adhesive has fully cured in order to prevent them from slipping or falling down.

NOTE: Our light grey HPL panels are covered with a protective film to protect the decorative surfaces. Do not forget to remove the film before mounting or after finishing the processing.
