S-Polybond SILIKONprofi Dusty grey (RAL 7037)

100% MEKO-free ✓ UV & weather resistant ✓ Permanently elastic ✓

The silicone SILIKONprofi of our own brand S-Polybond in dusty grey is produced according to the RAL colour system and corresponds to the colour shade RAL 7037. Constant quality controls before and during production ensure not only uniform pigmentation but also a consistently high viscosity. As a result, our silicone can be processed excellently and adheres to almost all materials commonly used in the construction sector. Due to its permanently elastic properties, sealing is also possible without any problems on materials with different levels of thermal expansion. Due to its production according to the RAL colour system, it is therefore ideal for sealing our dusty grey HPL panels or aluminium composite panels in RAL 7037.

Our high-quality alkoxy-based silicone sealant is 100% MEKO-free and is characterised by very good UV and weather resistance. This makes our sealant in dusty grey suitable for permanent outdoor use without hesitation, without weathering having a negative effect on the elasticity or the grey colour. As a neutrally cross-linking sealant, no unpleasant odours are produced during processing and curing, so that it can be used indoors even in poorly ventilated rooms without any significant odour nuisance.

When purchasing our silicones, benefit from generous quantity discounts, which are automatically deducted in our online shop from a quantity of 5 standard cartridges.

    Scope of delivery:
  • 1xPremium-Silicone SILIKONprofi RAL7037 (Dusty grey) 310ml standard cartridge

NOTE: A conventional silicone press for one-component standard cartridges is sufficient for application.

Properties of the dusty grey alkoxy-based silicone

Our silicone in dusty grey is available ready-to-use in a 310ml standard cartridge. Compared to acetate-based silicones, the one-component alkoxy-based sealant releases alcohols instead of acids during cross-linking. This means that no strong, unpleasant odours are produced during processing and curing. Another advantage of the Alcoxy technology is that the silicones are absolutely free of MEKOs. This means that, compared to conventional OXIM-based silicones, no 2-butanoximes are released during the cross-linking process, which are suspected of being carcinogenic. Thanks to the MEKO-free formulation, our silicone is considered to be environmentally friendly and harmless to health and can therefore be used without hesitation for almost all conceivable indoor and outdoor applications. Furthermore, our silicone in dust grey is classified as low-emission (A+) according to the VOC+ emission test, has a CE mark and is manufactured according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14000:2004.

The highly pigmented silicone in dusty grey is produced according to the RAL colour system and bears the colour code RAL 7037. The RAL colour system, which is frequently used in the construction sector, allows the colour of the sealant to be optimally matched to the materials used. Thus, our silicone in RAL 7037 is the perfect choice for sealing wall claddings made of our aluminium composite panels or HPL panels in dusty grey, which we offer in this RAL colour in precise cuts. Regular quality controls guarantee a consistently high pigmentation for the highest colour fidelity of the dust grey premium sealant of our own brand S-Polybond.

Our permanently elastic silicone has an extremely high resistance to UV radiation and despite even the most adverse weather conditions, such as acid rain, heavy frost or high heat exposure due to intensive sunlight. At the same time, the temperature resistance ranges from a very low -50°C to +150°C, at which our silicone sealant can be used permanently without any negative effect on the elasticity. The excellent ageing resistance, as well as the UV resistance, contributes to the fact that the joint sealants do not fade or become brittle even after many years of outdoor use. Premature renewal of maintenance joints is therefore not to be feared even under strong temperature changes or mechanical loads.

Silicones are often used to seal buildings, for example against unwanted draughts or the ingress of moisture. Water-repellent properties are a prerequisite for a silicone sealant, especially when sealing sanitary facilities such as bathtubs, toilets or shower cabins. To prevent mould formation, all silicones of our own brand S-Polybond SILIKONprofi are equipped with fungicide, so that it can be used in damp rooms without hesitation. As these are also free of solvents, they can also be used to seal sensitive surfaces such as glazed tiles on walls and floors or shower cabins made of glass or plastic.

CAUTION: Our dusty grey silicone has a very good adhesion to untreated natural stone. However, the compatibility should be tested in advance on an inconspicuous area or a leftover piece, so that it can be checked whether the application on the natural stone to be used takes place without undesirable edge discolouration.

Processing of SILIKONprofi in Dusty grey

Thanks to the perfectly adjusted viscosity, SILIKONprofi in dusty grey is very easy to apply. A conventional cartridge gun is required for application. This should be used to apply the sealant evenly and sufficiently, with excess material being scraped off with a joint scraper during the smoothing process. Skin formation starts after a time of approx. ten minutes, taking into account the optimum processing temperature between +5°C and +30°C. After the cross-linking is complete, our silicone has a temperature resistance of -50°C up to +150°C and is thus absolutely frost-resistant, but can also be used permanently at very high temperatures.

Our high-quality silicone has excellent adhesion to almost all typical construction materials. These include glass, wood, plastic, tiles and many more. Thanks to an extremely generous permissible deformation of 25%, our silicone offers reliable sealing protection against the penetration of strong draughts or moisture even when sealing materials with different thermal expansion coefficients. Therefore, permanently elastic expansion joints, for example between a wooden window frame and a solid stone wall, are easily possible with our silicone in dusty grey.

Before starting to apply the sealant, make sure that the surface to be sealed is absolutely free of dust, dirt and grease. A suitable cleaning agent should be used for this purpose; the use of cleaning oils or corrosive silicone removers is not recommended, as this can negatively affect the adhesion of the silicone. In addition, the surface should be dry to ensure perfect flank adhesion of the silicone sealant.

SILIKONprofi in dusty grey is suitable not only for sealing and sealing but also for bonding. Here, the silicone is applied to the surfaces to be bonded in dots or in the form of strips or waves. Afterwards, the components should be fixed in the deflashing position and pressed firmly together until the adhesive and sealant have hardened. Minor corrections can be made before the skin begins to form. When bonding very heavy components or objects that are subject to a high tensile force, we recommend using an assembly adhesive such as our MS-Polymer Parabond 600 in grey.

Application examples for our premium silicone in dusty grey

Our silicone is optimal for wall connection joints between wall and window profiles due to its excellent UV and weather resistance. Since a grout in a similar grey shade is often chosen for grouting masonry, our silicone in dusty grey is perfect for inconspicuous structural sealing of expansion joints between buildings or parts of buildings. The weatherproof sealant is also ideally suited for sealing window sills or weatherboards outdoors, ensuring an airtight and moisture-resistant seal. Even after years of outdoor use with strong temperature changes, the permanently elastic properties of our silicone remain intact.

In interior areas, grey skirting tiles are very popular as a clean finish to floor coverings. Thanks to its high elasticity, our silicone in dusty grey is ideal for sealing the connection joints in these areas. Grey floor coverings are also frequently chosen in sanitary areas. Due to its mould-inhibiting properties, our silicone is the perfect choice for sealing modern tiles or trendy vinyl floors, providing an ageing-resistant and water-repellent seal even under heavy and prolonged exposure to moisture.

Thanks to its very good adhesion to almost all materials used in construction, silicone is also well suited for bonding. In the trades, as well as among hobby home craftsmen, a silicone is therefore very popular as an adhesive and sealant for simple bonding. Mounting a bathroom mirror on glazed tiles is usually possible without drilling holes with our silicone. Bonding aluminium house numbers to a clinkered exterior wall is also best done with a silicone sealant and offers a quick, clean and long-lasting solution. However, for bonding with high tensile forces or high dead weight of the joined parts, it is advisable to use an assembly adhesive such as our Parabond 600, as this has a much better adhesive strength.

  • For joints between skirting and floor tiles, the easy-to-apply silicone in RAL7037 is ideally suited
  • The UV & weather resistant silicone in dusty grey is perfect for sealing wall connection joints outdoors
