The S-Polylight outdoor LED spotlight set combines discreet design with powerful lighting effects. The robust housings made of solid aluminium with a deep black powder coating harmonise perfectly with modern architectural and outdoor concepts. With an outer diameter of only 36mm and a low installation depth of 29mm, the mini spotlights can also be used where space is limited – for example, in slim wooden ceilings, filigree metal structures or furniture surfaces. For maximum ease of use, the SmartHome controller is equipped with a Wi-Fi module and can be paired with a smartphone via a Tuya-compatible app. It can then be conveniently dimmed, switched on or activated or deactivated at set times via mobile phone or voice command using voice assistants such as Alexa™ or Google Assistant™. The wireless remote control, also included in the set, maximises ease of use.

The black mini LED recessed spotlights add stylish accents to indoor and outdoor areas. With their daylight-like light of 6000K and 230 lumens, they illuminate your surroundings clearly and neutrally, ideal for colour-accurate lighting in living rooms and offices or modern outdoor living areas. And all this with a low power consumption of only 3 watts per individual spotlight thanks to high-quality 5050 SMD LEDs. With a very small outer diameter of only 36mm, an installation diameter of 28mm and an installation depth of 29mm, the spotlights fit perfectly into tight installation situations. The black housing made of solid aluminium blends in discreetly, whether as a contrast to light-coloured ceilings and furniture, or tone-on-tone with canopies and carports made of black aluminium profiles. Thanks to protection class IP65, the spotlights are reliably protected against dust and splash water, so that they can also be used outdoors in changeable weather conditions. The powder coating is also UV and weather resistant – there is no need to worry about the deep black colour fading. The S-Polylight LED Power Controller DR-HOME36W acts as both a power supply and a central control unit for your LED lighting. It can operate up to 12 recessed spotlights of the models DR-SP3W (warm white, 3000K) or DR-SP3K (cool white, 6000K) with 12 volts and a total power of 36 watts. The permanently attached 90cm long power cord with Euro plug is simply plugged into a socket to provide power. A compact HUB with twelve slots is integrated for connecting the LED spotlights, into which the small plugs of the connection cables are simply plugged. The hub is also connected directly to the controller. Thanks to the slim design of the power supply and hub, the entire system can be installed discreetly in cavities, behind drywall or in suspended ceilings, so that the technology remains invisible and the lighting appears elegant and tidy. The brightness of the spotlights can be adjusted continuously via the integrated dimmer, either using the supplied remote control or the Smart Life app on your smartphone. Thanks to the built-in WiFi module, the controller can be easily integrated into existing SmartHome systems. All functions – switching on and off, dimming and time control – can be conveniently controlled. In addition, the lighting can be controlled via Amazon Alexa&trade or Google Home™, so voice commands are also supported.

The set includes an elegant 4-channel radio remote control that can independently control up to four lighting groups. Each group requires its own DR-HOME36W SmartHome controller. The DR-CON36W LED power controller without SmartHome functionality is not compatible. Radio signal transmission is reliable even without a direct line of sight, so the controllers can be easily hidden in false ceilings or placed behind covers. The slim remote control features a white ABS housing and rubberised buttons for comfortable and precise operation. As is usual with remote controls, the battery compartment for two standard 1.5-volt AAA batteries (not included) is located on the back).

Each of our smart mini recessed spotlight complete sets includes a 28mm bi-metal hole saw with special Vario interchangeable teeth. With a diameter perfectly matched to the size of the outdoor spotlights, the saw is suitable for cutting holes in plasterboard, wood, MDF, HPL or aluminium and other light metals, and remains highly versatile even after installation is complete. The ground HSS centring drill bit ensures clean holes and can be easily replaced if necessary. Thanks to the stable triangular mount, the hole saw sits firmly in the drill chuck and can be used with all standard cordless screwdrivers.

Installation and connection of outdoor recessed spotlights in black

Installation and wiring require a cordless screwdriver, two batteries and a little time. No special tools or electrical expertise are required. The included 28mm hole saw makes it easy to drill the installation holes. The LED lights are connected with pre-assembled cables using simple screw or plug connections. To put the LED SmartHome controller into operation, it is integrated into the existing Wi-Fi network using a Tuya app, ideally Smart Life, on your mobile phone. The spotlights can then be conveniently switched on and off or dimmed using your smartphone.

1. Drilling the mounting holes
In order to install the recessed spotlights with the spring clamp brackets, cut-outs with a diameter of 28mm must be drilled in the appropriate positions. This is no problem with the bi-metal hole saw supplied. Thanks to its progressive alternating teeth, it is suitable for use on wood-based materials, aluminium and drywall without hesitation.

2. Wiring the spotlights
First, lay the pre-assembled connection cables. Then connect each spotlight individually. Insert the round plug of the connection cable into the coupling of the LED spotlight, where a notch ensures polarity. The screw connection with rubber seal protects against dust and splashing water. When inserting, the clamping brackets with high spring tension ensure a secure hold. Finally, all 2-pin plugs are inserted into the HUB of the LED SmartHome controller, whose special plug shape prevents incorrect insertion. When laying the cables, care should be taken to ensure that they are not stretched too tightly or pulled over sharp edges to avoid damage to the insulation. If the 5-metre connection cable is not long enough, it can be extended by a further 5 metres using a connection extension.

3. Connecting the controller
The LED SmartHome controller is put into pairing mode by briefly disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply five times, causing the connected LED spotlights to flash, which means that the device is in pairing mode. For setup with a smartphone, we recommend the free app Smart Life by Volcano Technologies for Android™ and iOS™. The app is easy to use and is updated regularly. So-called skills also allow the lighting to be controlled using voice assistants such as Alexa™ or Google Home™. In the app, select the ‘Add device’ function or tap on the plus sign. ‘Lamp’ is recommended as the device type. During the pairing process, select the Wi-Fi network, enter the password and establish the connection. The controller is automatically detected and integrated. Other Tuya-compatible apps can also be used, but the instructions for the respective app should be followed. The wireless remote control can now also be paired once the controller is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi. As long as it is in pairing mode and the LEDs are flashing, the channel can be assigned by pressing and holding the desired channel button on the remote control (1, 2, 3 or 4). This is confirmed by a brief, bright flash of the entry spots. The remote control is then available in addition to the app for complete control of the lighting.
