The S-Polylight Outdoor LED Spot Set brings stylish lighting to modern living spaces – both indoors and outdoors. Thanks to its integrated Wi-Fi module, the SmartHome controller can be easily integrated into your home network and connected to your smartphone via a Tuya-compatible app. Once paired, the lighting can be conveniently operated via your mobile phone. Voice control is also possible – compatible with popular assistants such as Alexa™ or Google Assistant&trad3e. This gives you full control, whether you want to switch the lights on directly, adjust the brightness or set fixed schedules for greater convenience and energy efficiency.

The mini LED recessed spotlights in silver with an output of 3 watts at 12 volts transform any modern living environment into a stylish play of light. The light colour of 6000 Kelvin, which is very similar to daylight at midday, illuminates rooms clearly and, with 230 lumens, also quite brightly, making colours appear very natural and creating a fresh, open atmosphere – ideal for bright kitchen islands, elegant home offices or minimalist living rooms with clean lines. With an outer diameter of only 36mm, an installation diameter of 28mm and an installation depth of 29mm, the mini spotlights also fit into very confined installation situations, for example in shelves, under-cabinet lights or filigree ceiling mouldings. The silver aluminium housing harmonises with all colours and surfaces and adds modern accents without being obtrusive. The IP65 protection class protects the recessed spotlights from dust and splashing water, so they can also be used in covered outdoor areas, on balconies or terraces. Installation is straightforward. Two sturdy clamping brackets with high spring tension hold the spotlights securely in place, while the 5-metre-long connection cable with sealed screw connection enables quick, tool-free installation. The S-Polylight LED Power Controller DR-HOME36W is the heart of every LED installation, combining power supply with smart control in one compact device. Up to 12 recessed spotlights of the models DR-SP3W (warm white, 3000K) or DR-SP3K (cool white, 6000K) can be operated via the controller with 12 volts and a total of 36 watts – perfect for modern living and outdoor areas. The 90cm long power cable with Euro plug is permanently connected to the power supply unit and ensures an uncomplicated power supply. The lighting mood can be flexibly adjusted at any time. The integrated dimmer allows the spotlights to be continuously adjusted, either directly via the remote control or conveniently via the Smart Life app on your smartphone. The integrated WiFi module makes the controller fully SmartHome-compatible. Switching on and off, dimming or time control can be conveniently controlled, and thanks to compatibility with Amazon Alexa™ and Google Home™ , the lighting can also be operated by voice command. A compact HUB with twelve slots ensures a simple and clean connection of the individual recessed spotlights. The connectors of the connection cables are plugged in directly, making installation particularly quick and safe. Thanks to the slim design of the power supply and hub, the system can be discreetly stowed away in cavities, behind covers, in drywall or in suspended ceilings. This keeps the cable clutter out of sight, while the silver lighting looks elegant, modern and tidy – perfect for open-plan living concepts, stylish outdoor lighting or minimalist interiors.

The set includes an elegant 4-channel remote control that can be used to control up to four groups separately. Whether you want to dim the lights gently or switch them on and off conveniently, you can create the desired mood at the touch of a button. To operate multiple groups, you will need several DR-HOME36W SmartHome controllers. The DR-CON36W LED power controller is not compatible with the white remote control. Thanks to the reliable radio connection, no direct line of sight is required as with infrared remote controls, which means that even controllers hidden in false ceilings or behind panels can be easily controlled. The slim white ABS plastic housing gives the remote control a modern look, while rubberised buttons provide a pleasant feel. A battery compartment on the back holds two 1.5-volt AAA batteries, which are required for operation (not included).

The 28mm bi-metal hole saw, which is included in every complete set, has special variable teeth and is suitable for a wide range of materials such as plasterboard, wood, MDF, HPL, aluminium and other light metals. This means that the saw can still be used in many different ways even after the LED spotlights have been successfully installed. A replaceable centring drill bit ensures precise drilling without slipping. It is made of profile-ground HSS-G steel and has a diameter of 6mm. A sturdy triangular shank ensures a secure, non-rotating fit in the drill chuck and can be clamped into all standard cordless screwdrivers.

Installation and connection of outdoor recessed spotlights in silver

A standard cordless screwdriver is required for installation and wiring in order to drill the cut-outs using the hole saw supplied. No other tools are necessary. The lights are wired using screw or plug connections, which can be connected without any specialist knowledge. To start up, the LED SmartHome controller is first connected to the existing Wi-Fi network via the app, preferably Smart Life. The lights can then be conveniently switched on and off or adjusted in brightness via smartphone. The supplied 4-channel radio remote control can then also be paired with the controller.

1. Drilling the mounting holes
The enclosed bi-metal hole saw has progressive alternating teeth and, with a diameter of 28mm, is perfectly matched to the installation dimensions of the compact spotlights. Before installing the spotlights with spring clip brackets, the cut-outs must first be made at the desired installation positions. With the high-quality saw, these cut-outs can be made quickly and cleanly in wood-based materials, aluminium or drywall, so that the spotlights can then be inserted securely and precisely.

2. Wiring the spotlights
Once drilling has been completed at the designated locations, the pre-assembled connection cables are fed through the openings to the controller. Care should be taken to ensure that the cables are not pulled too tightly or over sharp edges, so as not to damage the insulation. For longer distances, the 5m connection cable can be extended by a further 5 metres using the separately available connection extension. Each LED spotlight is connected to the HUB individually with its own connection cable. To do this, the round plug of the cable is inserted into the spotlight coupling and then screwed in place. As it is important for direct current that the positive and negative terminals are not reversed, a small notch on the plug ensures the correct polarity. The screw connection is sealed and provides reliable protection against dust and splashing water. The spots are inserted into the mounting opening with the spring clips first. Thanks to the high spring tension, the spots now sit securely and firmly in the cut-out. Finally, the 2-pin plugs are inserted into a slot in the HUB on the LED SmartHome controller. Up to 12 can be connected to one controller. The special shape of the plugs prevents incorrect insertion and ensures correct polarity.

3. Connecting the controller
First, put the LED SmartHome controller into pairing mode by briefly disconnecting the power supply five times by unplugging and replugging the mains plug. If the connected LED spotlights start flashing, this indicates that pairing mode is active. For setup with a smartphone, we recommend the free app Smart Life by Volcano Technologies, available for Android™ and iOS™. The app is user-friendly, regularly updated and, in conjunction with the appropriate skills, also enables voice control via Alexa™ or Google™ Home. Tap ‘Add device’ or the ‘+’ symbol in the app, select ‘Lamp’ as the device category and start the automatic pairing mode. Then select your home Wi-Fi network, enter the password and establish the connection. The controller is automatically detected and integrated. Alternatively, other Tuya-compatible apps can also be used. However, in this case, you must follow the respective installation steps, which may differ from this description. The 4-channel wireless remote control can only be paired via the app after a successful Wi-Fi connection. During the short phase in which the controller remains in pairing mode after the app connection (indicated by flashing LEDs), the remote control can be paired. To do this, press and hold the desired channel button (1, 2, 3 or 4) until the LEDs light up briefly. After that, the lighting can be controlled both via the app and via the 4-channel remote control.
