The S-Polylight Outdoor LED Spot Set brings modern lighting design to your home and garden – with a choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 compact mini spots. The housings are made of solid aluminium, finished with a durable white powder coating that combines durability with an elegant appearance. With protection class IP65, the spotlights reliably withstand rain, dust and moisture, so they can be used both indoors and outdoors on the patio, carport or in the bathroom. In addition to the controller and the recessed spotlights, the set also includes all the necessary connection cables and a practical wireless remote control. No tools are required for installation, as all cables are already fitted with matching screw and plug connections – quick, clean and safe. With an outer diameter of only 36mm, an installation depth of 29mm and an installation diameter of 28mm, the white recessed spotlights blend discreetly into any ceiling or furniture surface. The cool light colour of 6000K provides daylight-like, clear brightness with neutral colour rendering and creates a modern ambience that makes every room appear larger, fresher and more vibrant.

The heart of the system is the LED SmartHome controller, which controls up to twelve 3-watt spotlights. Equipped with an integrated Wi-Fi module, the SmartHome controller can be seamlessly integrated into the existing network. A Tuya-compatible app connects to your smartphone, allowing you to control all functions centrally. In addition to classic on/off switching, the system enables stepless dimming, the creation of schedules and integration into voice control systems such as Alexa™ or Google Assistant™. In this way, all lighting is reliably integrated into the SmartHome system and can be controlled flexibly.

Two clamping brackets with high spring tension hold the spotlights securely in the ceiling, and the 5-metre-long connection cable with sealed screw connection allows for quick, tool-free installation. The S-Polylight LED Power Controller DR-HOME36W performs two essential tasks. It supplies the necessary power and also acts as a smart control unit for the lighting system. Up to 12 mini recessed spotlights – available in either warm white with 3000K (model DR-SP3W) or cool white with 6000K (model DR-SP3K) – can be operated with a 12-volt operating voltage and a total power of 36 watts. The cabling is extremely simple. A 90cm long power cable with a Euro plug is permanently installed. A compact HUB with twelve connections is available for the spotlights, into which the pre-assembled cables simply need to be plugged. This saves time, avoids errors and ensures a smooth process. Control is also simple and flexible. An integrated dimmer allows the brightness to be continuously adjusted to suit any situation. Whether using the supplied remote control, a smartphone (via the Tuya-compatible app) or voice control via Amazon Alexa&trade and Google Home&trade – the desired lighting atmosphere is always just a touch or voice command away. Thanks to their slim design, the power supply unit and hub can be discreetly stored in drywall, suspended ceilings or other cavities. This keeps the technology hidden, while the lighting itself creates a clear, modern ambience – from minimalist living spaces to atmospherically lit outdoor areas.

The scope of delivery includes a handy 4-channel radio remote control, which can be used to switch up to four separate lighting groups on and off or dim them independently of each other. However, this requires separate DR-HOME36W SmartHome controllers. The DR-CON36W LED power controller is not compatible. As control is via modern radio technology, no line of sight to the controller is required, which means that lights in adjacent rooms can also be reliably operated. This allows the controller to be positioned behind a panel or hidden in the false ceiling. The slim white ABS plastic housing fits comfortably in the hand, while rubberised buttons ensure convenient operation. On the back is the compartment for the two 1.5-volt AAA batteries (not included).

To enable you to start installing the LED recessed spotlights immediately, every order of LED complete sets includes a 28mm bi-metal hole saw. It has alternating teeth, which make it very easy to saw cut-outs in panelling, ceiling panels, plasterboard or aluminium. A sharp 6mm centring drill bit ensures precise positioning. It is made of profile-ground HSS steel and can be easily replaced if necessary. On the other side, a solid triangular shank contributes to safe handling. It can be used in any conventional drill chuck on drills and cordless screwdrivers.

Installation and connection of outdoor recessed spotlights in white

Installation and wiring are child's play. No electrical expertise or special tools are required. All you need is a cordless screwdriver to drill the holes with the supplied hole saw, two 1.5-volt AAA batteries for the battery and a little time – that's all it takes to install the smart lighting system. The connection is made via simple screw or plug connections. To put the LED SmartHome controller into operation and use the SmartHome functions, it is necessary to pair it with the existing Wi-Fi via a Tuya app – preferably Smart Life. This requires a smartphone or tablet.

1. Drilling the mounting hole
Circular cut-outs with a diameter of 28mm are required to install the spotlights with spring clamps. These can be made easily and precisely using the bi-metal hole saw included in the set. Thanks to its progressive alternating teeth, it is ideal for materials such as wood-based materials, aluminium or drywall, for example plasterboard.

2. Wiring the spotlights
Once the holes have been drilled in the desired positions, the pre-assembled connection cables can be laid through the openings to the controller. During installation, care should be taken to ensure that the cables are not stretched too tightly or routed over sharp edges to avoid damage to the insulation. If the supplied 5-metre cable is not long enough, it can be extended by a further 5 metres using an optional connection extension. Each spotlight is connected individually with a connection cable. The round plug of the cable is inserted into the coupling of the LED spotlight, with a small notch ensuring correct polarity. The screw connection is fitted with a rubber seal that provides reliable protection against dust and splash water. When inserted, the clamping brackets with high spring tension ensure a secure hold in the mounting opening. Finally, the small white 2-pin plugs are each plugged into one of the 12 slots on the HUB of the LED SmartHome controller, whose special plug shape also prevents incorrect insertion.

3. Connecting the controller
To connect the LED SmartHome controller to the network, first disconnect and reconnect the power supply five times in quick succession. As soon as the connected LED spotlights start flashing, pairing mode is active. The Smart Life app, which is available free of charge for iOS and Android, is suitable for setup. After starting the app, a new connection is initiated via the Add Device option or the plus sign. Then select the Lamp category and start the automatic search mode. Next, select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The controller will then be automatically recognised and integrated into the app. Other Tuya-compatible applications can also be used, but please follow the respective installation instructions. Thanks to so-called skills, the system can now also be used for voice assistants such as Google Assistant™ or Alexa™ and controlled by voice command. Once the controller has been successfully paired, the supplied wireless remote control can now be connected to the system. As long as the LEDs are still flashing, the controller is still in pairing mode. To do this, press and hold the desired channel button (1, 2, 3 or 4) until the LEDs light up brightly. The remote control is now also ready for use.
