The S-Polylight outdoor LED spotlight set is available with a choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mini LED recessed spotlights in elegant black and features a high-quality aluminium housing with a robust black powder coating. Thanks to protection class IP65 and sealed screw connections, the spotlights are ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. The pre-assembled cables with plug connections allow for completely tool-free installation. At the heart of the set is the LED SmartHome controller for up to 12 spotlights with 3 watts of power each. With an integrated WiFi module, it supports functions such as stepless dimming, time control and group switching – controllable via remote control, smartphone or voice command. Operation via a classic light switch is also possible. The scope of delivery includes the controller with remote control, connection cables and the compact recessed spotlights. With an outer diameter of only 36mm, a mounting diameter of 28mm and an installation depth of 29mm, the spotlights can be integrated inconspicuously almost anywhere. The warm white light colour of 3000K creates an atmospheric, inviting ambience.

The set also includes a practical 4-channel remote control that can be quickly paired with the controller and also allows convenient operation of the lighting functions at the touch of a button.

Features of the SmartHome LED lighting set in black

Our mini LED recessed spotlights combine a very compact housing with high light output. With an outer diameter of only 36mm, a recessed diameter of 28mm and a recessed depth of 29mm, they fit perfectly into tight installation situations – whether under patio roofs or in furniture. The black, powder-coated aluminium housing has a modern and discreet look, while the IP65 protection class ensures reliable protection against dust and splashing water. This makes the small spotlights ideal for outdoor use. Thanks to powerful 5050 SMD LEDs in warm white (3000K), the spots deliver atmospheric light with 3 watts of power and 190 lumens, which can be dimmed as required to create a cosy atmosphere. Whether as a work light above the kitchen, in the wardrobe or as cosy lighting indoors and outdoors. Installation is quick and easy thanks to two robust clamping brackets with high spring tension and a 5m long connection cable with a sealed screw connection.

The smart S-Polylight LED Power Controller DR-HOME36W is a power supply and control unit in one – the central element of your LED lighting. It supplies up to 12 recessed spotlights of the type DR-SP3W (warm white) or DR-SP3K (cool white) with 12 volts and a total power of up to 36 watts. The permanently attached 90cm long power cable with Euro plug is simply plugged into the socket. An integrated dimmer allows for continuous brightness control of the spotlights via the matching remote control. Thanks to the built-in WiFi module, the controller is fully SmartHome-compatible and can be conveniently operated via smartphone using the free Smart Life app – from switching on and off to dimming and time control. Integration with Amazon Alexa™ or Google Home™ is just as straightforward, allowing control via voice command. A compact hub with twelve separate slots is provided for connecting the spots, into which the small plugs of the connection cables are inserted. This is also permanently connected to the controller. Thanks to the slim design of the power supply and hub, the system can be discreetly installed in cavities, behind drywall or in suspended ceilings – for a tidy overall appearance with no visible technology.

The set includes a versatile 4-channel wireless remote control that can be used to independently dim, switch on and switch off up to four lighting groups. Thanks to modern wireless technology, no direct line of sight to the SmartHome controller is necessary – even lamps in other rooms can be reliably controlled. The slim, white ABS plastic housing fits comfortably in the hand, while rubberised buttons ensure convenient operation. On the back is a battery compartment for two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included).

NOTE:The wireless remote control included in the set is only compatible with our LED SmartHome controller DR-HOME36W and cannot be used to control the LED power controller DR-CON36W without SmartHome function.

Every complete set of our smart mini recessed spotlights comes with a free 28mm bi-metal hole saw with special variable teeth. Its diameter is perfect for our outdoor spotlights and it is also very versatile – suitable for materials such as plasterboard, MDF, HPL or aluminium. The ground HSS centring drill bit enables clean drilling and can be easily changed if necessary. Thanks to the stable triangular mount, the hole saw sits securely in the drill chuck and can be used with any standard cordless screwdriver.

Installation and connection of outdoor recessed spotlights in black

No electrical expertise or special tools are required for installation and cabling – a standard cordless screwdriver is sufficient to drill the appropriate holes using the hole saw provided. Connection is made via simple screw or plug connections. To start using it, first connect the LED SmartHome controller to your Wi-Fi network using the app – preferably Smart Life. Then you can conveniently switch the lights on and off or dim them using your smartphone. After that, you can also pair the 4-channel wireless remote control included in the set with the controller. Voice control via common voice assistant systems such as Amazon Alexa™ or Google™ Assistant is also possible. To do this, the Smart Life skill must be activated in the respective app.

1. Drilling the mounting holes
At the start of installation, drill the holes for the LED spotlights into where the recessed spotlights will later be inserted. To ensure that this is done without any problems, each LED lighting set includes a 28mm bi-metal hole saw, which fits securely into any standard cordless screwdriver chuck thanks to its robust triangular shank. The sharp HSS centring drill bit effortlessly penetrates materials such as wood, aluminium, plastic or plasterboard. This allows the spotlights to be used flexibly in a wide variety of areas – for example, in wood panelling, aluminium roofing or drywall constructions.

2. Laying the connection cables
In the next step, lay the pre-assembled connection cables. The larger black plug securely connects the LED spotlight via a screw cap, while the smaller white plug is later inserted into the hub of the LED power controller. The cables are fed through the installation opening to the controller position. Care should be taken to ensure that the cables are not stretched or routed over sharp edges. Each spotlight comes with its own five-metre connection cable. If required, this can be extended by a further five metres using an optional connection extension.

3. Connecting the LED spotlights
Once all cables have been laid, each spotlight is connected individually. Its round plug is inserted into the coupling of the connection cable, with a small notch ensuring the correct polarity. The screw connection is then tightened by hand. An integrated rubber seal provides reliable protection against dust and splash water. When inserting the spots, care must be taken not to pinch your fingers, as the clamping brackets are under high spring tension. These are turned away from the LED towards the cable and simultaneously guided through the installation opening so that the spot sits securely and firmly in the opening. Finally, all 2-pin plugs are inserted into the black HUB of the LED SmartHome controller, which offers 12 slots – one per recessed spotlight. The special plug shape prevents incorrect insertion.

4. Pairing with your smartphone
To switch the LED SmartHome Controller to pairing mode, first disconnect the power supply by briefly unplugging and replugging the mains plug five times in quick succession. If the connected LED spotlights start flashing, the device is in pairing mode. To set up the device with your smartphone, we recommend the free ‘Smart Life’ app from Volcano Technologies, available for Android™ and iOS™. The app is easy to use, is updated regularly and, when combined with the appropriate skills, also enables voice control via Alexa™ and Google™ Home. Open the app, tap on ‘Add device’ or the ‘+’ symbol, select ‘Lamp’ as the device category and start the automatic pairing mode. Then select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password and connect the app. The controller will be automatically detected and integrated. Alternatively, other Tuya-compatible apps can also be used. Please note the specific installation steps within the respective app or use the instructions or support if you have any questions.

5. Pairing the wireless remote control
After connecting the controller to the app and the Wi-Fi, it remains in pairing mode for a short time, as indicated by flashing LEDs. During this phase, the 4-channel radio remote control can be easily paired: press and hold the desired channel button (1, 2, 3 or 4) until the LEDs briefly light up brightly. The remote control is then ready to be used to control the lighting in addition to the app.

NOTE:The 4-channel wireless remote control can only be paired with the controller once a successful connection to the Wi-Fi network has been established via a compatible Tuya app (such as Smart Life).

WARNING:The recessed spotlights may only be connected using the connection cables supplied or the optional extension cables. The S-Polylight Power Controller DR-HOME36W or the S-Polylight LED Power Controller DR-CON36W without smart home function with 12 volt output voltage, which are included in the set, are suitable for the power supply. Connection to the 230 volt mains supply is not possible. There is a risk of damage to property and personal injury. Using a different 12V power supply may impair the functionality of the spotlights or cause damage.
