The red screws with a head diameter of 12mm are manufactured in accordance with the DIN EN 14592 standard. This means that the screws comply with the general type approval for ventilated facade systems with Trespa® Meteon® FR panels made of high-pressure laminate and can be used for mounting vertical facade cladding on wooden support battens.
NOTE: A Torx Bit T20 is required for the installation of the facade screws in carmine red, which is available separately.
Our HPL screws are made of high quality A4 stainless steel. This alloy is characterised by outstanding corrosion resistance. With a head diameter of 12 mm, even sliding point holes, which must have a diameter of 8 mm according to the installation instructions from Trespa®, are always completely covered when mounting on wooden support battens. The partial thread allows the installation of facade panels up to 8mm thick. This is due to the thread-free shank of 10mm. The total length of the screw is 35mm plus 2mm for the flat, lenticular screw head, which has a modern Torx drive.
To ensure that the installation of facade cladding in outdoor areas can be implemented in a visually appealing and inconspicuous manner, the head lacquer in Carmine Red is exactly matched to the panels of the UNI COLOURS collection in Carmine Red. The lacquer finish is scratch-resistant and has a high colour fastness. Even if the screws are exposed to direct UV radiation from sunlight in outdoor areas.
The lacquered HPL screws in Carmine Red are perfectly matched in colour and gloss level to the single-colour HPL panels in Carmine Red with colour code A12.3.7 from Trespa® with satin finish. This makes them ideal for interior and exterior wall cladding. The prerequisite is the constraint-free installation of the panels on a wooden substructure. This means that a fastening must be defined as a fixed point. Usually, one of the middle screws is chosen so that the panel can expand evenly on all sides. The remaining screws serve as sliding points. When screwing in the screws, make sure that the screw is not tightened any further once the screw head is resting on the panel. The hole drillings when installing with facade screws must have a diameter of 8mm.
The maximum distance between two fixings of HPL sheets with a thickness of 8 mm as facade cladding is 70 cm. For panels with a thickness of 6 mm, the distance is reduced to 60 cm. However, external influences acting on the fasteners must also be taken into account, so that the distance may have to be reduced in order to ensure a secure hold of the facade panel. One reason is possible tensile loads caused by wind. For the edge distance, a guideline value of 20mm applies, but a maximum of ten times the panel thickness. For an 8 mm thick HPL panel, this means that the centre of the hole may be a maximum of 80 mm from the edge.
However, the red screws can not only be used for facade systems, but are also suitable if the panels are to be installed, for example, as a kitchen backsplash or shower backsplash in the masonry behind them with dowels by screwing them in place.
The facade screws are not a Trespa® brand product and are only matched to the panel decor. Trespa® is a registered trademark of Trespa International.
