Description

Polyethylene welding rod black in 3mm thickness by the metre

Our welding rod for polyethylene with a diameter of 3mm in the colour black, is used for the permanent welding of polyethylene sheets. Our black PE welding rod in 3mm thickness is ideal for welding our PE sheets in lower thicknesses. For thicker sheets we also have PE welding wire in 4mm diameter in the colours black or natural.

Buy your black welding rod for polyethylene according to your needs

Only rarely do you need a whole roll of PE welding rod in black. For this reason, we offer you the possibility to order your welding rod with a diameter of 3mm in black in any quantity according to your needs. Simply enter the number of metres you require in the input field and our calculator will determine the price based on our favourable graduated prices. However, we recommend that you order half a metre more so that you still have a sufficient buffer for welding your polyethylene sheets, especially at the end of the welding seam.

Notes on the welding rod for polyethylene

  • Our PE welding rod can only be used for welding polyethylene together
  • For welding our PE welding wire we recommend a hot air fan welder
  • The processing temperature when welding polyethylene should be strongly observed
  • Our black PE welding rod in a thickness of 3mm, is ideal for smaller sheet thicknesses

Processing of welding rod for polyethylene

Polyethylene can be welded excellently. However, as with welding polypropylene, attention should be paid to the air temperature in order to achieve a perfect weld. The temperature range for welding polyethylene is between +220°C and +280°C. At lower temperatures, the welding rod is not heated sufficiently and the weld seam therefore does not have a secure connection. At higher temperatures, the polyethylene sheets and the PE welding rod can burn, which also has a negative effect on the quality of the weld.

Welding polyethylene requires a little practice, so in our online shop we offer our Special adhesive S-Polybond PEprofi, as an alternative if you prefer to glue your polyethylene parts instead of welding them.
