Our S-Polylight outdoor LED spotlight set with a choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mini LED recessed spotlights in elegant silver impresses with its high-quality aluminium housing and, thanks to protection class IP65 and sealed screw connections, is ideal for indoor and outdoor use. The pre-assembled cables with practical plug connections enable completely tool-free installation. The LED SmartHome controller included in the set, designed for up to 12 spots with 3 watts of power each, has an integrated WiFi module. This allows numerous SmartHome functions such as dimming, time control or group switching to be conveniently operated via remote control, smartphone or voice control. Of course, the light can also be operated in the traditional way using a conventional light switch. The complete set contains everything you need for installation: the controller with remote control, connection cables and the particularly compact recessed spotlights with a robust, silver powder coating. With an outer diameter of only 36mm, a mounting diameter of 28mm and a mounting depth of 26mm, the spotlights can be discreetly integrated almost anywhere. From cabinet lighting and atmospheric ambient lighting in the living room or bedroom to outdoor lighting for the patio, carport or walkways. The mini spotlights with a light colour of 3000 Kelvin bathe the area in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Thanks to the LED SmartHome controller, once successfully paired with a smartphone, the system offers voice control via Amazon Alexa™ and Google Assistant™. This allows lighting functions such as switching on and off and dimming to be easily controlled by voice command for a modern and convenient SmartHome experience. The scope of delivery also includes a 4-channel remote control that can be connected to the controller at the touch of a button and also allows convenient control of the lighting.

The integrated 5050 SMD LEDs in warm white (3000 Kelvin) offer atmospheric lighting with 3 watts of power and a brightness of 190 lumens, which can be dimmed as required to create a cosier atmosphere. Whether above the kitchen worktop, in the wardrobe or as stylish accent lighting indoors or outdoors, these compact spotlights perfectly showcase your lighting ideas. Installation is quick and safe thanks to two sturdy clamping brackets with high spring tension and a 5-metre connection cable with sealed screw connection.

The smart S-Polylight LED Power Controller DR-HOME36W is not only a reliable power supply unit. It is the heart of your LED lighting system. It supplies up to 12 DR-SP3W recessed spotlights with 12 volts and a total output of up to 36 watts. The 90-centimetre-long power cable with Euro plug is attached to the device and simply plugs into the socket. Thanks to the integrated dimmer, the LED spotlights can be conveniently controlled and dimmed continuously using the matching remote control. The controller is SmartHome-compatible thanks to the WLAN module integrated in the power supply unit. The lighting can be conveniently controlled via smartphone using the free Smart Life app. Whether switching on and off, dimming or time control – everything is possible at the touch of a button. Integration with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa™ oder Google Home™ is also very easy. Once paired, you can control your lighting conveniently via voice command. A compact hub with twelve separate connections is integrated for connecting the individual spotlights. The small plugs of the outdoor recessed spotlights are inserted into the hub. Thanks to the slim design of the power supply unit and hub, the system can be discreetly installed in cavities, behind drywall or in suspended ceilings. This keeps the technology out of sight and gives your lighting a tidy and stylish look.

This set includes a high-quality 4-channel wireless remote control that allows you to dim and switch on or off up to four separate lighting groups as desired. The innovative wireless technology guarantees reliable control, even without a direct line of sight to the SmartHome controller. The control even works when the lighting is in another room. The elegant white ABS plastic housing fits comfortably in the hand, and the rubberised buttons ensure smooth operation. The battery compartment is located on the back and has space for two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included).

NOTE: The 4-channel wireless remote control only works in combination with our LED SmartHome controllers DR-HOME36W. This remote control is not suitable for the simple LED power controller without SmartHome function.

We supply the appropriate hole saw free of charge with every complete set for installing our DR-SP3W mini recessed spotlights. The robust bi-metal hole saw with a diameter of 28mm has been specially manufactured for our outdoor spotlights and is suitable for numerous materials – from plasterboard and MDF to HPL and aluminium. A high-quality HSS centring drill bit ensures precise drilling and can be easily replaced if necessary. The fixed triangular shank prevents slipping and fits into any standard cordless screwdriver.

Installation and connection of outdoor recessed spotlights in silver

No special tools or prior knowledge of electrical installation are required for installation and wiring. A standard cordless screwdriver is sufficient to drill the necessary mounting holes using the hole saw provided. The electrical connection itself is made without tools using simple screw or plug connections. To start up, the LED SmartHome controller is connected to the existing WiFi network via an app – ideally Smart Life. This allows the lighting to be conveniently controlled via smartphone. Switching on and off or adjusting the brightness individually – all with just a few taps of your finger. The supplied 4-channel wireless remote control can then also be paired with the controller. In addition, the lighting can be integrated into common voice assistant systems such asAmazon Alexa™ oder Google™ Assistant. All you have to do is activate the Smart Life Skill in the respective app – and you can control the lighting via voice command.

1. Drilling the mouting holes
The first step is to prepare the cut-outs for installing the LED spotlights. Simply mark the desired positions. Each LED lighting set comes with a matching 28mm diameter bi-metal hole saw. Thanks to its sturdy triangular shank, it can be easily inserted into a standard cordless drill chuck. The precise HSS centring drill bit glides effortlessly through materials such as aluminium, wood, plasterboard or plastic. This makes the spotlights extremely versatile. For example, in aluminium canopies, wood panelling or drywall. The recessed spotlights are also splash-proof and therefore suitable for damp rooms such as bathrooms and WCs. They provide pleasant, cosy light in warm white throughout your home.

2. Laying the connection cables
Once all the cut-outs for the recessed spotlights have been prepared, you can start laying the connection cables. These are already equipped with suitable plug connections at the factory and are ready for immediate connection. The larger, black round plug is connected directly to the LED spotlight and securely fastened with the screw cap. This creates a robust and weatherproof connection. The smaller, white plug is later plugged into the HUB of the LED power controller. The connection cable is first fed through the installation opening and then laid to the intended position of the controller. If the supplied length of five metres is not sufficient, the cable can be extended by a further five metres using an optional extension cable. The extension is easily achieved using an intermediate screw connection. When laying the cable, make sure that it is not pulled too tightly and that it does not come into contact with sharp edges. This will prevent damage to the insulation. Each spotlight requires its own supply cable – the set therefore includes a suitable connection cable for each LED spotlight.

3. Connecting the LED spotlights
Once all cables have been laid, the electrical connection is established. Each spotlight is connected individually by inserting the round plug into the coupling of the connection cable. A small notch ensures that the polarity is correct – an important aspect with direct current. Once the plug is inserted, the screw connection is tightened securely. This connection is equipped with a rubber seal that protects the cables from dust and splashing water. Special care must be taken when inserting the spotlights, as the clamping brackets have a high spring tension. These brackets must be turned away from the LED towards the cable and simultaneously guided through the small opening for the spotlight so that the spotlight is securely and permanently fixed in place. The LED SmartHome controller completes the cabling. Here, all small 2-pin plugs are inserted into the black HUB. The HUB has a maximum of 12 slots – one per spotlight. Here, too, the special plug shape prevents a plug from being inserted upside down. With this last step, the cabling is complete.

4. Pairing with your smartphone
To put the LED SmartHome controller into pairing mode, disconnect the power supply by briefly pulling the power plug five times in quick succession and then plugging it back in. As soon as the connected LED spots start flashing, the device is in pairing mode. To connect to your smartphone, we recommend the free ‘Smart Life’ app from Volcano Technologies, available for Android and iOS. The app is particularly user-friendly, is updated regularly and, in conjunction with the appropriate skills, also supports voice control via Alexa and Google Home. Open the app and tap on ‘Add device’ or the ‘+’ symbol. Then select ‘Lamp’ as the device category and start the automatic pairing mode. Next, connect the app to your Wi-Fi by selecting the network and entering the password. The controller will then be automatically detected and integrated. Alternatively, other apps compatible with Tuya can also be used. Follow the installation steps within the app or consult the instructions or contact support if you have any questions.

5. Pairing the wireless remote control
After connecting to the app in the Wi-Fi network, the controller remains in pairing mode for a short time, which is indicated by flashing LEDs. During this time, the 4-channel wireless remote control can be paired by simply pressing and holding the desired channel button 1, 2, 3 or 4 until the LEDs light up once. The remote control can now be used to its full extent to control the lighting.

NOTE: Pairing the 4-channel wireless remote control requires a successful connection to the Wi-Fi network via a compatible Tuya app (e.g. Smart Life) on your smartphone.

WARNING: The recessed spotlights may only be connected using the original connection cables or the optional extension cables.
