Aluminium corner profiles 6mm for outside corners
For indoors & outdoors ✓ Anodised aluminium ✓ Clamping range 6mm ✓
Our external corner profiles are made of anodised aluminium and are available in 1000mm or 2000mm in our online shop. The inner clamping area of the 6mm profile is max. 6.5mm and is therefore perfectly suitable for panels with a thickness of 6.0mm plus the usual thickness tolerance of the panel material used. This is a relevant advantage, especially with HPL panels, because with many manufacturers the panel thickness can vary quite a lot within a given tolerance. The visible width of the smooth profile after assembly is 15 mm on both sides. The total width of the profile is 44.0 mm, of which 34.5 mm is the rear mounting surface for screwing or gluing the profile to the panel, the cut edges of which are to be covered with the corner profile. The profile thickness of one millimetre provides sufficient torsional rigidity, but is discreet enough to ensure the smallest possible edge as a transition from the panel surface to the aluminium profile.
External corner profiles made of aluminium are used to cover cut edges of blanks that adjoin each other at external corners at a 90 degree angle. The corner profiles are corrosion-resistant and weatherproof and are also suitable for permanent outdoor use without hesitation. For this reason, the profiles are also very popular for visually enhancing facade cladding that is constructed with HPL panels.
NOTE: The corner profiles are pushed onto the cut edges of the panels and should be additionally glued for a secure hold.

Scope of delivery:
- 1 x corner profile made of aluminium 6mm in 1000mm or 2000mm length
TIP: Shortening the corner profile can be done with a small handsaw with metal saw blade. For clean mitre cuts, however, we recommend a mitre saw with a fine-toothed metal saw blade.
Properties of the 6mm aluminium corner profile for external corners
Our corner profiles are made of solid aluminium, which receives an oxidic protective layer on the surfaces through anodic oxidation. This oxide layer ensures that the smooth surfaces of the aluminium profiles are efficiently protected against corrosion caused by the effects of the weather, so that the attractive appearance is retained over the long term even in outdoor applications. This process for surface refinement as corrosion protection is also known as anodising or anodising. This makes our profiles excellently suited for corner joints of facade cladding and covers on the house or in the garden.
The stiff profiles with a thickness of 1mm are very easy to process and contribute to an improved stiffness of decorative panels with a thickness of 6mm. While HPL panels are considered extremely rigid anyway, many other plastic panels, or even wood, are still quite flexible in the low thickness. Particularly when erecting partition walls or virus protection walls made of acrylic glass, the stability of the panel can be significantly increased by supporting them at the outer corners with an aluminium corner profile.

Application and assembly of the aluminium corner profiles
Our corner profiles are made of corrosion-resistant aluminium, which is excellently suited for outdoor use. For this reason, the profiles are extremely popular for cladding facades with HPL panels, where the cut edges usually have a dark core. These are covered by the profiles, whereby a more pleasing appearance can be achieved. In addition, slight edge chipping of the decorative surfaces at the sawn edges can be covered. However, the profiles are not only used for visual purposes, but also contribute to improved thermal insulation in facade cladding, because by closing the expansion joints, an otherwise existing cold or thermal bridge is significantly reduced. In addition, the penetration of moisture by rain is also reduced, so that the substructure behind it, if made of wood, or additional thermal insulation is less affected.
The aluminium profiles in attractive aluminium silver are not only suitable for facade cladding with HPL panels, but can also be excellently used in interior design. Possible areas of application are, for example, the construction of partition walls with HPL panels or protective screens with transparent plastic panels made of acrylic glass. This not only reduces the risk of injury due to the usually sharp cut edges of the sheets, but also achieves a high-quality appearance. The corner profiles can also be used excellently in furniture construction, for example to connect covers and wall elements with veneered pressboard or decorative panels at right angles to each other and at the same time to conceal the sawn edges of the panels. The corner profiles can even be used on tiled substrates to create a visually attractive corner with waterproof, corrosion-resistant aluminium profiles. For example, for tiled coverings of WC cisterns. Also in the sanitary area are fixed shower partitions made of HPL or acrylic glass, which can be securely connected to each other with corner profiles.
NOTE: In addition to the corner profiles, which are used to connect panels with a thickness of 6mm via an external corner at a 90 degree angle, we also stock corner profiles with a clamping range of 8mm. Furthermore, we also offer H-profiles and U-profiles made of anodised aluminium for panel thicknesses of 6mm or 8mm at very reasonable prices.

Application examples:
- External corner profiles made of aluminium reduce the cold bridge of facade cladding
- Corner profiles are used to visually enhance facade cladding
- Aluminium profiles hide chipping on surfaces of cut edges
- Unstraight saw cuts can be optically compensated and straightened with corner profiles
- Aluminium corner profiles contribute to the stability of thin-walled panels and partitions
The aluminium profiles for external corners are lightweight and can be fitted very easily by gluing with a suitable adhesive. To simplify the application of the adhesive, our corner profiles have a fine groove on the inside of the mounting surfaces to apply a mounting adhesive straight and to guarantee a secure hold after the adhesive has cured. For bonding the profiles to wooden or plastic panels, we recommend a permanently elastic assembly adhesive, such as our MS-Polymer Parabond Transparent. This is not only characterised by an enormous adhesive strength directly after application, but is also permanently elastic as an adhesive and sealant, so that even thermal expansion of the panels has no effect on the longevity of the bonding. In addition, our MS polymers are UV and weather resistant. This is an essential prerequisite, especially for profiles used to visually enhance exterior facade cladding.
Instead of gluing the profiles, they can also be screwed to the panels. This is particularly useful if, for example, free-standing partition walls are to be erected with decorative panels arranged at a right angle. For this purpose, the aluminium profiles should be pre-drilled with a small drill to match the diameter of the screw. Thanks to the generous mounting surface, sufficient edge distance of the fixings within the panel used is ensured. When choosing the screws, however, make sure that the thread length does not exceed the panel thickness. This is the only way to ensure that the screw connections are not visible from the front. Additional gluing can further improve the stability of the free-standing construction.
