Description

HPL panels with dark ash wood look – cut to size

ETB approval ✓ UV & weather resistant ✓ decor on both sides ✓

Our dark ash wood-look HPL panels (6 mm / 8 mm) are available as millimetre-accurate cut-to-size panels up to 1500 mm × 1000 mm at competitive prices. The decor on both sides features an attractive wood texture that resembles dark-stained ash.

HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is produced in multiple layers: the core consists of several kraft paper layers, combined with decorative papers. The layers are impregnated with resins and pressed under high pressure to create a solid, stable and bend-resistant panel. Suitable for indoor and outdoor cladding and approved for commercial balcony cladding in accordance with the ETB guideline “Components that protect against falling”.

Note: The grain direction always refers to the long side of the cut (first input field).

Key benefits at a glance
  • UV & weather resistant (outdoor suitable)
  • Hard, non-porous surface – easy to clean
  • Decor on both sides with wood texture
  • One side with easily removable protective film (processing protection)
  • ETB balcony approval (6 mm / 8 mm)
Characteristics

The panels can be used permanently outdoors, even under harsh weather conditions and rapid temperature changes. The typical operating temperature range is -30 °C to +80 °C.

Due to the hard, non-porous surface, light dirt can usually be removed with clean water and a soft cloth. For stubborn soiling (e.g. graffiti), organic solvents such as acetone or methylated spirits may help.

Warning: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or polishing compounds, as these may cause scratches or surface damage.

Approvals & standards
  • Flame retardant according to DIN EN 13501-1: B-s2, d0 (comparable to DIN 4102 B1)
  • Balcony approval according to ETB guideline “Components that protect against falling”
  • VOC emissions rated A+
  • FSC certified (sustainable and socially responsible forestry)

HPL is generally considered physiologically safe and free from hazardous substances such as heavy metals, organic halogens or asbestos. It is made mainly from paper-based layers and can be recycled well.

Cut-to-size service (tolerances & larger formats)

We deliver your HPL decor panels cut to size – millimetre-accurate and fast (tolerance typically max. ±1 mm).

You only pay for the sizes you need. Offcuts are reused for further cuts and are not charged separately. Cutting is carried out on modern panel saws using a two-step process (scoring + final cut) for clean edges with minimal chipping.

Online configuration up to 1500 mm × 1000 mm. Larger formats up to 3050 mm × 1300 mm are available on request (shipping costs calculated individually).

Typical applications
  • Balcony cladding / balcony edging (ETB compliant)
  • Cladding and façade elements (outdoor weatherproof)
  • Privacy screens, fence elements, bin enclosures, garden structures
  • Interior design and furniture construction (VOC A+)
  • Public areas where flame retardancy is required (B-s2,d0)
Processing & accessories (drilling, screws, adhesive)

HPL is as hard as hardwood. Use hardened saw blades / cutters (solid carbide or diamond-tipped) and keep the speed moderate to prevent overheating and premature tool wear.

For drilling, a solid carbide façade panel drill with a centring tip is recommended to minimise chipping. Alternatively, carbide or HSS drills can be used if the panel is supported on a flat, firm surface.

Tip: We can drill holes and produce custom shapes on our CNC portal milling machines (e.g. chamfers, cut-outs, contours). Contact us by phone or e-mail for the milling service.

Note: Remove the protective film before installation or after finishing all processing work.
