Paracryl EXTERIOR in white - The UV-resistant painter's acrylic

Waterproof after application ✓ Can be painted over quickly ✓ Very good adhesion ✓

Our Paracryl EXTERIOR in white is ideal for joints with low movement play in outdoor areas and can be painted over with all conventional paints and varnishes that are free of solvents after a short time if required. Due to its UV resistance, however, a protective coating is not absolutely necessary, so the white sealant can also be used to inconspicuously fill cracks, crevices and flaws if the areas have already been painted white.

By building up in layers, the acrylic is also ideal for filling deep cracks and repairing large holes and damage in plaster, stone or wood. In this case, the acrylic is applied several times in succession, but the sealant should harden sufficiently before repeated application. The volume loss typical of acrylic sealants during curing is kept within limits with Paracryl EXTERIOR.

Because of its very good adhesion to almost all typical building materials, our painter's acrylic is also well suited for simple bonding without excessive load-bearing capacity, provided the thermal expansion coefficients of the materials are comparable and thus the maximum deformation of the adhesive and sealant is not exceeded.

Thanks to our generous quantity discounts, you can save on the purchase of painter's acrylic Paracryl EXTERIOR - graduated prices from as little as 5 cartridges.

    Scope of delivery:
  • 1 x Paracryl EXTERIOR white 300ml standard cartridge

NOTE: A silicone gun for one-component standard cartridges is required for the application of the weatherproof painter's acrylic.

Properties of the professional acrylic Paracryl EXTERIOR White

The weatherproof acrylic has excellent ageing resistance both indoors and when used outdoors. As a premium acrylic, the sealant can be painted over or varnished after only half an hour without fear of cracking of the paint application. It should be noted, however, that acrylic has a reduced elasticity. With Paracryl EXTERIOR, the permissible deformation for applications subject to movement is a maximum of 12.5% and is thus only moderately suitable for expansion joints.

Paracryl EXTERIOR exhibits very good adhesion even without pre-treatment of the surfaces with a primer as an adhesion promoter. Especially for materials used in the construction sector, such as concrete, aerated concrete, plaster, sand-lime brick, clinker, brick, gypsum or plasterboard, the acrylic is excellently suited for gap filling or sealing. The adhesion is also excellent for untreated, painted or coated wood, laminate, vinyl or rigid PVC, from which window profiles are very often made. On the other hand, acrylic does not adhere to chemically inert plastics, such as polyolefins, which include PE and PP. Painter's acrylic can also be used as an adhesive and sealant for many metals. Acrylic sealants should only be avoided for metals that can rust, because water evaporates during curing, which can lead to corrosion.

Our painter's acrylic sealant can also be used as an adhesive and sealant for many metals.

Our outdoor painter's acrylic does not attack plastic surfaces because it is solvent-free. As an acrylic that is harmless to health, it naturally meets the strict requirements of VOC emission class A+, so that it can also be used indoors without hesitation. Hazardous ingredients, such as phthalates or alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APEO), are also not contained and are not released either during or after curing.

Processing of painter's acrylic Paracryl EXTERIOR in white

Paracryl EXTERIOR is supplied as a single-component, ready-to-use acrylic sealant in a standard cartridge that can be inserted into and applied with any commercially available silicone gun. Before starting to apply the sealant, the contact surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dirt and dried. After application, acrylic can be smoothed with simple tap water. For this purpose, a spray bottle can be helpful to wet the surfaces of the paste-like sealant over a wide area, but not excessively. Unlike silicones or MS polymers, additives such as soap solutions or special smoothing agents are not required for the smoothing process. A damp finger or a joint scraper can be used to scrape off joints. If cracks and rough imperfections in smooth surfaces are to be filled, we recommend a painter's spatula or a smoother to achieve an even result.

The weatherproof acrylic is waterproof after application, so unlike conventional acrylics, it does not need to be protected from rain until it has cured. However, Paracryl EXTERIOR, like almost all sealants in a paste-like state, does not tolerate frost, so acrylic sealants should be applied at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C. After curing, the temperature resistance ranges from -20°C to +80°C.

Examples of use for Paracryl EXTERIOR in white

  • Paracryl EXTERIOR is UV-resistant and therefore equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use
  • The weatherproof painter's acrylic is waterproof, so rain has no effect on curing
  • The white acrylic does not need to be protected from UV radiation by a separate coat
  • Paracryl EXTERIOR is waterproof but can still be smoothed very well with tap water
  • and much more

Paracryl EXTERIOR, as a weatherproof acrylic, can certainly be used outdoors without the need for a coating to protect against UV radiation, but can only be used for expansion joints to a limited extent due to its low elasticity. For sealing connection joints between masonry and windows or doors, a durably elastic silicone sealant in the matching colour is therefore much better suited.

CAUTION: Paracryl EXTERIOR is waterproof but not watertight after application. This is a limitation for the usability in permanent contact with water or high content of moisture in the ambient air, so that for sealing sanitary facilities and damp rooms a silicone with mould-inhibiting properties should be used.
