Our black welding rod for polyethylene with a diameter of 4mm is perfectly suitable for our PE sheets with high sheet thickness. PE cannot be glued easily, which is why welding polyethylene is common practice. Our 4mm welding rod for PE is recommended from a sheet thickness of 4mm and can, with several welds on top of each other, also be used without problems for welding PE sheets with high thicknesses (for example 15mm or 25mm). For smaller sheet thicknesses, we recommend our black PE welding rod in 3mm thickness.

Notes on the welding rod for polyethylene

• For welding PE plastics, a hot air welder is recommended
• When welding polyethylene, the air temperature of +220°C to +280°C should be maintained
• Our black PE welding rod in a thickness of 4mm, is also suitable for thicker sheets

Processing of welding rod for polyethylene

To weld polyethylene, a processing temperature between +220°C and +280°C should be achieved. Both lower and higher temperatures can have a negative effect on the quality of the weld. Our black PE welding rod has a diameter of 4mm and is ideal for welding polyethylene sheets from a thickness of 4mm. But even with thicker sheets, the welding rod with 4mm is sufficient for welding, because several welding seams can be made on top of each other until a seamless transition is achieved.
