HPL panels with dark ash wood look made to measure

ETB approval ✓ UV & weather resistant ✓ decor on both sides ✓

Our HPL panels in wood look with a thickness of 6mm or 8mm are available up to a size of 1500mm x 1000mm in millimetre-precise cuts at favourable prices. The surfaces have an attractive wood structure on both sides that resembles the grain of dark-stained ash wood. A solid, stable and bend-resistant board is created by the layered production of several layers of kraft paper for the core, as well as decorative paper in wood look. The individual layers are soaked in resins and pressed together under very high pressure. The HPL boards are equally suitable for interior and exterior cladding and are also permitted for the commercial construction of balcony cladding. This is thanks to the balcony approval in accordance with the ETB guideline "Components that protect against falls".

Our HPL panels with surface decor in dark ash are UV and weather resistant and are considered weatherproof and waterproof. The surfaces are hard and non-porous and can be cleaned with relatively little effort even in the case of stubborn dirt. To protect the decorative surfaces in wood decor from scratching or damage during processing, the brown HPL panels are provided with an easily removable protective film on one side.

NOTE: The direction of the grain always refers to the long side of the cut (first input field) of our HPL sheets. This means that if you enter a length of 1000mm and a width of 600mm, the grain extends from left to right over the long side of 1000mm. If you enter a length of 500mm and a width of 1000mm, the grain extends from left to right over a length of 500mm.

Characteristics of our HPL panels in dark ash

The HPL panels with an attractive wood-look surface decor are UV and weather-resistant and can be used permanently outdoors even in the most adverse weather conditions and with rapid temperature changes. The temperature range of the solid panels extends from -30°C to +80°C. This means that HPL is equally suitable for frost and frost-resistant applications. This means that HPL is equally frost-resistant and heat-resistant. Even continuous UV radiation does not have a negative effect on the appearance of the decorative panels, so that fading of the attractive, dark-stained ash grain is impossible. The solid boards are waterproof and have a very low mass increase of no more than 5%. This makes the wood-look HPL panels ideal for exterior cladding or for constructing privacy fences and garden sheds or similar.

Our HPL with wood decor can be used as balcony edging without further ado, because these panels meet the requirements of the ETB guideline in the thicknesses 6mm and 8mm. Thanks to the balcony approval, the erection of balcony cladding is also no problem in the commercial sector.

HPL compact boards are generally considered to be normally combustible. Our compact boards with wood-look surface decor on both sides are classified as flame-retardant according to the European standard DIN EN 13501-1 B-s2,d0, which is equivalent to the old DIN standard 4102 B1. Therefore, the decorative panels are perfect for interior furnishings and partition walls in public buildings or wherever flame retardancy must be ensured.

In addition, our decorative panels are very easy to clean. This is due to the hard, non-porous surface. With clear water and soft, clean wipes, light surface contamination can usually be removed effortlessly. Even in the case of stubborn dirt such as graffiti, cleaning with organic solvents such as Acteon or methylated spirits is usually no problem.

WARNING: Abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or polishing agents are not suitable for cleaning the decorative surfaces, as this may result in scratches or damage.

Approvals and standards for HPL panels in wood look

  • Flame retardant according to DIN EN 13501-1 B-s2, d0 (comparable to DIN 4102 B1)
  • Balcony approval in accordance with ETB guideline "Components that protect against falling"
  • Our HPL panels are rated A+ according to the VOC emission
  • FSC certified (ecologically sustainable and socially responsible forestry)

Due to the wood-look surface decors, the grained HPL sheets are very often used indoors for interior furnishings and for the production of high-quality furniture. With our HPL panels, this is also possible without hesitation, because with regard to the chemical emission values, the very low tolerance values according to class A+ of the standard for VOC emission are strictly adhered to. Furthermore, HPL is free of hazardous substances such as heavy metals, organic halogens (fluorine, bromine, chlorine, etc.) or asbestos and is considered physiologically harmless. HPL is environmentally friendly and consists mainly of paper and can therefore be recycled very well. It is manufactured from renewable raw materials from socially responsible forestry, which is certified by the FSC seal.

HPL blanks in an appealing wood look - buy cheap in blanks

We deliver your HPL decor panels cut to size - accurate to the millimetre and fast.

With our cutting service, you can conveniently order your desired sizes online and we will deliver your HPL cuts in an attractive wood decor exactly according to your specifications. This not only saves you time for cutting, but also money, because you only pay us for the cuts you need. Any offcuts are used for further cuts and are not charged to you. In addition, you do not need any specially hardened saw blades made of solid carbide, which are necessary for sawing HPL, and you do not have to dispose of your offcuts yourself.

The cutting is done on one of our modern panel saws with a separate programme for the control, in which the decorative panels are cut with two different saw blades in two separate sawing passes. In the first pass, the surface is sawn from below with a small saw blade to achieve a perfect sawn edge on the underside. With the second saw blade, the panel is sawn through with a high saw blade projection so that the top side also convinces with an impeccable cut edge without the wood decor showing any chipping. The saw blades are extra-hardened and have a special saw tooth arrangement. The two-stage cutting ensures flawless cut edges with very low tolerances of maximum +/-1mm.

In our online shop, millimetre-precise cuts are possible up to a size of 1500mm x 1000mm from our HPL decorative panels in wood look. Larger cuts up to a size of 3050mm x 1300mm are also possible on request, but in this case the shipping costs must be calculated individually. Such formats are no longer possible via standard shipping on pallets. Simply send us your specific request by e-mail and tell us the desired dimensions, the course of the grain, the thickness and the required quantity. We will then immediately send you your individual, low-priced offer including shipping costs for your HPL panels in dark ash wood look.

Processing of the HPL panels with dark ash decor

HPL panels are similarly hard as hardwood and therefore specially hardened saw blades or cutter heads should be used for processing the decorative panels, as they are used for hardwood. Normal saw blades and router bits for wood wear out extremely quickly when cutting the cladding panels. Even if hardened saw blades made of solid carbide or diamond-tipped saw blades are used, care should be taken to keep the speed low. Otherwise, the heat generated can cause the tool used to anneal, making it blunt and unusable.

To mount the HPL panels by screwing, it is necessary to drill holes. This is best done with a facade panel drill for HPL made of solid carbide with an integrated centre point. These drills are specially hardened and can also be used for free-hand drilling without fear of chipping when the drill comes out. Alternatively, drills made of tungsten carbide or HSS drills can also be used, but the HPL sheets should rest on a flat, firm surface to avoid chipping on the back of the drill hole.

TIP: We are happy to drill the holes on one of our large portal milling machines. In contrast to the saw cut in rectangular format, this enables individual shapes or edge processing (e.g. chamfers). We will be happy to advise you on our milling service by telephone or e-mail.

To match our HPL panels in grained wood decor, we offer high-quality HPL screws in brown made of stainless steel with scratch-resistant head lacquer. These are already available from one screw at favourable graduated prices. The HPL screws are suitable for mounting the panels on a wooden substructure.

The decorative panels with attractive wood grain can also be excellently glued to flat substrates. However, HPL is comparatively heavy and therefore an assembly adhesive with very high adhesive strength should be used, such as our MS Polymer Parabond 600 in white. The assembly adhesive is characterised by a very high initial adhesion and bonds to almost all solid substrates that are common in the construction industry, such as concrete, sand-lime brick, tiles, plasterboard and many more. Despite the high initial adhesion, the HPL sheets should be sufficiently fixed until the adhesive has hardened to prevent them from slipping or falling.

NOTE: The decorative surfaces of our HPL panels in wood look are equipped with a protective film for protection. Please remove the protective film before assembly or after completion of processing.
