Description

Rigid PVC sheets in light grey in UV-stabilised version

Our plastic sheets made of light grey rigid PVC in UV-stable design with increased impact strength, are similar to the colour RAL7004 (signal grey) and are available in thicknesses from 3,0mm – 30,0mm. The sheets in standard format have a length of 2000mm, a width of 1000mm and are made of 100% virgin material. The rigid PVC (PVC-U) sheets produced in Germany are completely dyed through in light grey, so that cut edges and surfaces always have the same colour. They are also solid sheets of rigid PVC and not rigid foam sheets or PVC sheets with a foamed core and are absolutely free of toxic plasticizers. Thanks to their UV-stabilisation, the sheets are equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The light grey sheets with a smooth surface are supplied without protective film.

Characteristics of our light grey PVC sheets

Our rigid PVC in the colour light grey is equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use thanks to its UV stabilisation and is used very often in building construction or in the construction of stadium facilities. Even prolonged, intensive sunlight does not cause the light grey colour of rigid PVC sheets to fade or make the material brittle.

The UV-stabilised sheets also exhibit the properties typical of rigid PVC, such as very high rigidity and good chemical resistance. PVC is a hard, dimensionally stable plastic which has electrically insulating properties. For these reasons, the light grey rigid PVC is very often used in the electrical industry as well as in mechanical and plant engineering.

Standards for UV-stabilised rigid PVC in light grey

  • REACH (EU Chemicals regulation)
  • RoHS (Regulation banning hazardous substances in the electrical industry)
  • PAK (Directive on compliance with limit values for polyaromatic hydrocarbons)

Other thicknesses and formats, as well as blanks from our light grey rigid PVC sheets in UV-stabilised design are available on request.

In addition to our standard delivery programme, our plastic sheets made of UV-stable rigid PVC in light grey are also available in dimensions of 3,0 x 1,5 metres, as well as in other thicknesses and colours. Thanks to our horizontal panel saws with CNC control, we can also supply individual cuts according to your specifications. Simply send us your specific request by e-mail and our competent consulting team will contact you immediately.

We are also happy to produce hard PVC milled parts according to your design drawing on request.

Individual milled parts from our light grey rigid PVC sheets are no problem thanks to our modern milling machines with the latest computer-controlled 3-axis technology. Simply send us your enquiry with a sketch or a construction drawing stating the required number of pieces and we will make you a tailor-made offer for your milled parts made of uv-stable rigid PVC. You can find all information about our milling service here..

Processing of rigid PVC in light grey (UV-stable)

Rigid PVC can be cut to the desired size using a variety of methods. Punching or water jet cutting is just as unproblematic with our light grey PVC as turning, sawing or milling. However, when using metal-cutting methods, care should be taken to keep the speed of rotation lower in order to prevent the material from burning, as the combustion of PVC produces hydrochloric acid, which can attack both saw blades and machines. The same applies to drilling rigid PVC. It is advisable to use a coolant or lubricant (simple liquid soap is best for this purpose) when drilling to ensure that the material does not burn.

Our light grey PVC sheets with UV stabilisation are ideally suited for thermoforming, so that thermoformed parts can also be produced without problems.

Sheets of light grey rigid PVC are basically suitable for direct printing, however, the light grey colour of the PVC sheets is only conditionally suitable for direct printing, so that we recommend our UV-stable rigid PVC sheets in white at this point. The light grey PVC sheets can be very well laminated, laminated or varnished, but for more demanding varnishing work we recommend priming the surface with a suitable primer beforehand.

Our light grey UV-stable sheets made of rigid PVC can easily be welded with the appropriate PVC welding wire. The bonding of PVC with PVC or other plastics is also possible without any problems. As a suitable adhesive for bonding PVC to each other or to other plastics (except PTFE, PE and PP), we recommend the plastic adhesive Ruderer L530 from our online shop. For bonding our light grey PVC with materials from the building sector (concrete, wood, stone, tiles, etc.) our assembly adhesive Parabond 600 in grey, which, with its enormous initial adhesion, bonds even thicker panels quickly, securely and permanently.

TIP: PVC sheets should not be processed on CO² laser equipment, as the burning of PVC produces hydrochloric acid which immediately attacks all parts of the laser equipment. All metal parts of the system would rust immediately after contact with hydrochloric acid.
