The threaded sleeve in cream white (RAL 9001) is made of high-quality A2 stainless steel and has a UV- and weather-resistant head lacquer in cream white, which is a very popular colour for interior and exterior wall cladding. Thanks to the Torx drive in the flat sleeve head, the threaded sleeves are easy to screw into place. The head diameter is 14mm and is 6mm larger than the sleeve that is inserted into the profile or workpiece. The sleeve depth is 12mm and contains an internal thread of size M5, which is also 12mm deep. The threaded sleeves are primarily used as an alternative to cap nuts for steel square profiles and are usually combined with balcony screws. Due to the stainless steel, the threaded sleeve can be used without hesitation for outdoor installations.

NOTE: The stainless steel threaded sleeves with cream-white head lacquer have an internal thread in size M5, so that any commercially available M5 threaded screw can be used. The head shape, colour and thread length of the screw do not matter.

Depending on the area of application, threaded sleeves are inserted into the steel profile or the material surface until the flat sleeve head rests on the surface. This has a thickness of around 2mm and slopes lenticularly towards the outer edges. The main advantage of this design is that an almost flush panel assembly can be ensured because no nut or cap nut protrudes. This makes cleaning the surfaces much easier and also has a positive effect on the appearance of the fastening. This is reinforced by the high-quality head lacquering in cream white in accordance with RAL K5 Classic with RAL colour code 9001, which allows tone-in-tone mounting of materials whose surface also corresponds to this colour shade.

Properties of the cream-white stainless steel threaded sleeve

The threaded sleeve in off-white has a head diameter of 14mm, with a flat bottom and a slightly lenticular top. This requires a very flat design with a thickness of about 2mm. Adding the 12mm for the depth of the sleeve results in a dimension of Ø14mm x 14mm. The outside diameter of the sleeve is 8mm, so that there is a circumferential contact surface of 3mm for the head to ensure a secure hold. To ensure that this is permanent, we use a thread locker which is located on the internal thread of the sleeve. However, this causes the thread to narrow slightly, so that when the screw is screwed in, an additional Torx wrench or bit insert size T20 (ISR20) is required to prevent the threaded sleeve from turning. The threaded sleeve is manufactured in one piece from solid A2 steel. This is a stainless steel whose corrosion resistance allows permanent use outdoors in all weather conditions.

Especially for white surfaces that are intended for outdoor use, good UV and weather resistance is significant. For this reason, we rely on a high-quality powder coating for the head lacquer in cream white, which fulfils these conditions. A discolouration of the lacquer as well as a yellowing due to permanent UV radiation is therefore not to be feared. The off-white, which corresponds to the RAL colour 9001 of the K5 Classic colour chart, is ideal for mounting HPL panels, which are available from various manufacturers in the corresponding colour. But cream white is also very common indoors, so that the threaded sleeves can also be used for a wide variety of screw fittings with M5 threaded screws.

Safety plays an extremely important role in fall protection for balconies, roof terraces and staircases. This also includes the choice of suitable fasteners, because these must be secured against independent loosening. With our threaded sleeves, we play it safe and rely on a very special adhesive, consisting of the adhesive component and a hardener contained in tiny little glass bodies. As soon as the screw is screwed into the thread, these shatter and thus initiate the reactive hardening of the thread adhesive. Once it is fully cured, there is no longer any fear of the sleeve loosening or coming loose due to shocks or vibrations.

NOTE: Once cured, the thread locker is solid and becomes unusable when the screw is loosened, so it can be restored by reapplying thread locker. Alternatively, the use of a new threaded sleeve provides an absolutely secure screw connection.

Use of threaded sleeve in cream white

A threaded sleeve made of stainless steel in combination with a threaded balcony screw is an excellent choice when it comes to fastening cladding with HPL, VSG glass or aluminium composite panels. The colour and length of the screw that goes through the panel does not play a significant role as long as it has an M5 thread. We offer the matching screws in various colours, matching our HPL decors, as well as in various lengths at favourable prices. In addition, we also offer various spacers, which, when applied between the panel and the steel profile, guarantee perfect vibration and shock absorption, as well as ensuring constraint-free assembly through good sliding properties.

In order to use the cream white threaded sleeves, they must be fully inserted until the sleeve head rests on the surface. This requires a profile depth or board thickness of at least 12mm so that the sleeve does not protrude on the other side. Make sure that the hole for the sleeve is drilled at least 13mm deep and with a diameter of 8.5mm. The drill bit should be chosen to match the material. It should also be noted that the clamping range of a threaded screw is slightly increased by 1 mm to 5 mm by using a threaded sleeve. This means that significantly shorter screws can be used than with a screw connection with a hexagon nut or cap nut. In concrete terms, this means that a screw with a thread length of 20mm has a clamping range of 21mm to 25mm.
