ABS sheets in black in standard format

Our ABS sheets in the standard format of 2.0x1.0 metres in the colour jet black are available in thicknesses from 1mm to 10mm. The solid sheets are completely dyed through, so that both cut edges and surfaces have the same deep black colour, which is similar to RAL 9005 (jet black). To protect against scratching, the surface is provided with a protective film on one side, which can be removed very easily after finishing.

Our standard sheets made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer - or simply ABS - have the typical high impact strength and are therefore ideally suited for the production of stable, impact-resistant mouldings and underlays. ABS plastic is also excellently suited for housings and covers of electrical devices. This results from the excellent electrically insulating properties.

Our ABS sheets can be used for application temperatures between -10°C and +90°C. ABS begins to soften at a comparatively low temperature of 102°C, which is why our black ABS standard sheets are excellent when it comes to the production of finished plastic parts in the thermoforming process. In industrial series production, for example, covers for lawnmowers or interior trim for vehicles and many other moulded parts are often produced using the so-called thermoforming process.

Processing of our ABS sheets in black

Our black ABS sheets in the standard format of 2.0x1.0 metres can be processed very easily using all common techniques. The cutting of our standard ABS sheets can be done by sawing, punching or milling. In addition, the laser cutting of ABS for the production of plastic parts with any shape is also possible without any problems. ABS can also be drilled or screwed. No special tools are required for processing ABS, so simple woodworking tools can be used to make cuts or drill holes.

Our ABS sheets are not UV resistant, but can be protected from UV radiation by laminating them with a UV protection film. Painting our black ABS sheets can also help to protect the surfaces against UV radiation and weathering, so that you can also use the ABS sheets outdoors.

Our special cold welding adhesive ABSprofi is excellently suited for bonding ABS plastics. The adhesive of our own brand S-Polybond was specially developed for bonding ABS plastics to each other or to many other plastics and bonds the parts to be joined permanently and securely. Welding with an ABS welding rod is also a possible joining method for joining ABS plastics together.

NOTE: In order to avoid damage to the smooth surfaces before and during processing, we advise that the protective film on one side is only removed after the work has been completed.
