Our S-Polybond PMMAclean cleaner is a ready-to-use mixture for cleaning acrylic surfaces. It is used to clean, refresh and help protect against stress cracking and is suitable for surfaces in supermarkets, public facilities and plastic glazing in caravans and camping applications. PMMAclean has an antistatic effect and therefore effectively reduces dust adhesion. Thanks to its special protective formula, the cleaner helps protect plastic surfaces against age-related stress cracking in the material, thereby extending the service life of acrylic.

S-Polybond PMMAclean was specially developed for cleaning acrylic surfaces and, unlike many other plastic cleaners, contains no alcohols or acids, to which acrylic has only limited resistance. It is suitable for all acrylic sheets, regardless of brand or manufacturer, and ensures gentle cleaning with a long-lasting effect.

Properties of S-Polybond PMMAclean cleaner

Our special cleaner PMMAclean from our own S-Polybond brand is a ready-mixed product that can be used immediately. Thanks to the continuously adjustable spray head, the cleaner can be applied as required, from precise application to stubborn dirt through to broad-area application as a fine spray mist. The high-quality spray bottle with a capacity of 500ml can be rinsed out and refilled after use.

S-Polybond PMMAclean does not attack surfaces or seals and can be used on all polymethyl methacrylate surfaces, such as acrylic XT, acrylic GS, Setacryl and many others, regardless of whether the material is transparent, opal or opaque acrylic. The special cleaner is also suitable for coloured and fluorescent acrylic without concern.

NOTE: Always use a soft, lint-free cloth rather than a microfibre cloth when cleaning acrylic.

Using the PMMAclean cleaning spray

Surface preparation

Coarse dirt deposits on acrylic surfaces should be removed gently with plenty of clean water before applying the special cleaner. This prevents sand and dirt particles from scratching the surface when rubbed with the cloth. To loosen stubborn dirt, PMMAclean can be sprayed directly onto the affected areas and, after a short contact time, rinsed off with clean water before the surface is cleaned thoroughly with a cloth.

Cleaner dosage

For cleaning smaller surfaces, our acrylic cleaner can be applied to a cloth and spread over the surface. For larger areas, the cleaner can also be sprayed directly onto the surface and spread using a soft, lint-free cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth until the surface is streak-free and dry.

For stubborn dirt or dull surfaces, it is advisable to spray the cleaner generously over the affected areas and leave it to work for a few minutes. The cleaner can then be sprayed onto a lint-free cloth and rubbed over the surface. Wipe afterwards with a dry cloth.

Do not apply the cleaner in direct sunlight or to hot surfaces, or surfaces that have become excessively heated by the sun, if you want to achieve a streak-free finish. Use only soft, lint-free cloths for gently cleaning acrylic surfaces. Do not use microfibre cloths, as they may scratch the smooth surfaces.

Safety instructions for use

Before using the acrylic cleaner PMMAclean, consult the safety data sheet and the technical data sheet. Particular attention should be paid to the information on handling and personal protective equipment during use. Even if the safety data sheet does not explicitly require it, cleaning agents should always be stored in their original container and kept out of the reach of children for safety reasons.

SUSTAINABILITY TIP: Once completely emptied and rinsed, the bottle can be reused, for example to mist houseplants with tap water. We deliberately selected a label that can be removed easily and without leaving residue on the bottle.
