Aluminium corner profiles in anthracite (RAL7016) for inside corners

Robust powder coating ✓ Suitable for damp locations ✓ Corrosion-resistant ✓

Our powder-coated aluminium inner corner profiles in anthracite (RAL 7016) are made of corrosion-resistant aluminium in an EN AW 6063 T& alloy with a profile thickness of 1.1mm. The standard length of the profiles is 2005mm. The clamping range of the profiles is available for panels with a thickness of 3m, 6mm or 8mm. The solid aluminium profiles in anthracite grey are suitable for connecting facade panels, tiles and all conceivable floor coverings at inside corners and can be used both vertically and horizontally. Furthermore, the weatherproof profiles are suitable for permanent outdoor use without hesitation.

The profiles have a material thickness of only 1.1 mm. At first glance, this appears to be very little, but due to the production from high-quality EN AW 6063 T6 aluminium, the profiles convince with a very high stability and inherent rigidity, which results in a stabilising effect, especially with low panel thicknesses. The low profile thickness also has the advantage that cutting can be carried out without special tools, for example with a simple hacksaw with metal saw blade. Moreover, the transition from the panel surface to the profile is very small at 1 mm. This facilitates the cleaning of both surfaces and looks more pleasing, especially when the anthracite-coloured profiles are used with wall and floor coverings in the same or very similar colour.

NOTE: The powder-coated profiles for inside corners in anthracite grey are available with a clamping range of 3mm, 6mm or 8mm, each as a standard length of 2005mm. Anthracite grey aluminium profiles for external corners, as well as U-profiles for edge trim or H-profiles for panel connection are also available in our online shop in the same clamping ranges. These match the inside corner profiles perfectly in length, colour and gloss level.

Properties of the inner corner profile in anthracite grey

We use a high-quality aluminium in an EN AW 6063 T6 alloy for our insert profiles, which combines very good stability with very good corrosion resistance. In order to achieve an evenly smooth profile surface which, in contrast to untreated aluminium, is visually flawless, the surfaces are refined with a UV- and weather-resistant powder coating, the colour of which is exactly matched to our anthracite-grey HPL panels in the cut to size in terms of shade and gloss level. However, the profiles can not only be used to cover the edges of HPL, but can also be used for all panels whose material thickness is suitable. The lacquered surface is not only attractive on anthracite-grey panels, but can also create a beautiful or contrasting look on other coloured surfaces or wood decors.

Our inner corner profiles in anthracite grey are available with a clamping range of 3 mm, 6 mm or 8 mm. The maximum clamping range is approx. 0.5 mm higher for all three variants and means that panels with higher production tolerances can also be inserted without any problems. These thickness variations in relation to the panel thickness can be more or less pronounced depending on the material and manufacturer. The standard length of the lacquered inner corner profiles is 2000mm (plus 5mm length tolerance) and is identical for all three versions. The same applies to the profile thickness, which is also the same for all profiles at 1.1mm for all clamping areas. The dimensions of the profiles are also 40mm on both sides on the outer mounting surface and 10mm visible width of the profile on the inside of the profile. However, the depths of the available mounting surface vary. For the 3mm inner corner profile, the depth of the mounting surface is approx. 34mm. With the 6mm profile, the area is somewhat smaller with a depth of 32mm and is reduced again by about 2mm to 30mm with the profile with 8mm clamping area. On the one hand, this contributes to an increase in rigidity with thin panel thicknesses, but also has the advantage that regardless of the clamping areas, the profiles have the same visible width from all sides, so that a consistent overall appearance can be maintained even with different panel thicknesses, especially if they are visible on both sides. In order to also enable application areas in this direction, the profiles are coated on all sides. This also allows the profiles to be used as outer corner profiles with increased visible profile width. We have the profiles manufactured according to our drawings by our manufacturer based in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) under strict quality specifications in accordance with the EN 12020 standard (extruded precision profiles made of EN AW-6060 and EN AW-6063 alloys). Compliance with dimensional accuracy and colour fidelity is checked during production, before delivery and on receipt of goods, so that we can guarantee consistent first-class quality.

Application and assembly of the silver aluminium corner profiles

The robust powder coating of the inner corner profiles in anthracite grey is exactly matched to the HPL panels in anthracite. This means that the colour tone and the silk matt gloss level correspond exactly to the surface decor of the panels. This means that the 6 mm and 8 mm profiles in particular are perfectly suited to concealing uneven panel cuts or chipped edges that are particularly noticeable on adjacent panels. The profiles are attached to one edge before the adjacent panel is attached at right angles to it. Alternatively, this can also be inserted afterwards from above, below - or in the case of horizontal use - from the side, provided there is sufficient space available. If the inner corner profiles are used for skirting boards, shower partitions or stair tread profiles, these must be fitted and fixed in the corner before the wall or floor covering. Bonding with an assembly adhesive keeps the profiles securely in place so that they do not slip when the panels, laminate or tiles are inserted or glued on. The anthracite grey profiles offer a seamless transition, especially for large-format rear walls in kitchens, showers or bathrooms with HPL, but they can also be used for a corner transition from wall tiles to acrylic glass or safety glass of identical thickness.

TIP: For facade cladding, high profile lengths are an advantage, which is why we have the inner corner profiles in anthracite produced in 2-metre lengths. To shorten or mitre these, a cross-cut and mitre saw is the best choice, because this saw guarantees the best possible cutting pattern. If such a saw is not available, a simple hand saw with a metal saw blade is also sufficient.

Whether the profiles are simply pushed on, glued or screwed depends primarily on the application. For facade cladding, as well as for balcony edgings, it is normally sufficient if the anthracite grey inner corner profiles are pushed onto the panel edges. Additional fixing is not intended here and can even be a hindrance, as this can restrict the panels' ability to expand. When used as a corner profile for furniture, shelving, partitions or privacy screens indoors, on the other hand, permanent fixing to prevent slipping or loosening is usually essential. A MS polymer can be used here, but you cannot use screws with a length that matches the clamping area. However, the powder-coated profiles are not pre-drilled, so a small HSS drill is needed to drill the holes for the screw connection. The small groove on the inside of the mounting surface not only serves as a guide for a constant edge distance, but also ensures a perfect edge distance to the edge of the panel so that it cannot break away through the holes. The groove is also an excellent guide for the application of the mounting adhesive and improves the adhesion of the joint, which is particularly noticeable on very smooth surfaces.
