HSS-E drill bit set Ø 1.0mm - 10.0mm in robust industrial case

TOP Quality ✓ High-quality cobalt alloy ✓ Ideal for stainless steel ✓

The high-quality Bohrcraft HSS-E twist drill set with cobalt-alloyed drills in profile-ground design is available in the practical industrial cassette. The drill bit set consists of 19 extremely robust HSS-E twist drills with diameters between 1.0mm and 10.0mm with graduations in 0.5mm steps, so that the right drill bit is always at hand for every conceivable application. The HSS-E drills are made of durable high-performance high-speed steel and are characterised by enormous hardness, hot hardness and tempering resistance thanks to the extremely wear-resistant cobalt alloy. This means that even drilling in high-alloy steel is possible without any problems. In addition, the profile-ground HSS-E twist drills already cut in the centre of the drill tip due to the cross cut and thus have self-centring properties. Therefore, it is not necessary to pre-core the drill hole position in plastics or metals, and the required feed force is also significantly reduced. For precise drilling in our plastic and composite plates, as well as in alloyed and unalloyed steels, the high-performance HSS-E twist drills are excellently suited.

The hard-wearing industrial cassette made of robust metal ensures clear and protected storage of the nineteen cobalt-alloyed high-performance drill bits. The handy cassette with dimensions of approx. 15.0 x 11.0 x 3.5cm can be optimally stowed away or transported in tool cases, whereby the drill bits are reliably protected from impacts. Furthermore, the drills can be removed and reinserted very conveniently from the millimetre-precise recesses. The risk of accidentally injuring yourself on the sharp edges of loose drill bits is avoided thanks to the practical industrial cassette of the Bohrcraft HSS-E drill bit set.

In contrast to the cheaper roll-rolled HSS-R drills, the cutting edges, flutes and drill tips of the absolutely high-quality profile-ground HSS-E drills are milled out of a cobalt-alloyed steel blank and elaborately ground, making them significantly sharper and more precise in terms of the quality of the holes. The HSS-E twist drills according to DIN 338 have normal spirals with a spiral twist of type N and a point angle of 118°. This ensures exact centring of the drill tip in the material as well as optimum chip removal. The drill lengths vary depending on the diameters. The effective lengths of the drill spirals, especially with the thicker diameters, allow drilling in materials with thicknesses of up to several centimetres. The cylindrical shank, which corresponds to the diameter of the respective drill spiral, enables the use of HSS-E drills with commercially available cordless screwdrivers, drills and drill presses.

NOTE: As a low-priced alternative to the Bohrcraft HSS-E twist drill set with cobalt alloy, another 19-piece drill set with HSS-G drill bits in ground version is available in our online shop. These are also ideally suited for drilling plastics and metals, but are only suitable to a limited extent for long-term use when drilling alloy steels. For occasional drilling of stainless steel, the less expensive drill cartridge is also suitable without hesitation.

    Scope of delivery:
  • 1 x HSS-E twist drill 1.0mm - 10.0mm 19pcs. in industrial case

NOTE: If any damage is found on the drill tips or the drill spirals, the affected drills should no longer be used as this can have a detrimental effect on the quality of the boreholes.

Application examples for the 19-piece HSS-E drill bit set in Ø 1.0mm-10.0mm

Cobalt-alloyed drills are characterised by an extremely long service life even under intensive stress. Nevertheless, with increasing thickness and hardness of the material, as well as with increasing drill diameter, care should be taken to reduce the speed in order to avoid annealing of the drill. In addition, cooling with lubricant, drilling paste or cutting oil can help to further optimise the already excellent service life of HSS-E drills. The cobalt-alloyed HSS-E drills in profile-ground quality are primarily used for demanding drilling of alloyed and high-strength steels and stainless steels due to their first-class properties in terms of heat and tempering resistance. The robust HSS-E drills are also ideally suited for drilling in our plastic sheets and aluminium composite sheets, as well as in wood, unalloyed steels and many other metals.

The extensive HSS-E drill bit set is suitable for countless applications due to the large selection of drill bits with diameters from 1mm to 10mm in 0.5mm increments. The very filigree drills with diameters between 1mm and 3mm are ideal for pre-drilling stainless steels, plastics or even wood, for example. Pre-drilling enables better and exact guidance for hole drilling with larger diameters. This results in optimised chip removal, which reduces heat generation. This leads to optimised hole quality, especially when machining materials with a high material thickness or very hard metal alloys, and also contributes to a longer drill life. If the pressure is too high or the drill is tilted during drilling, thin drills can tend to break due to their very small diameters, so special care should be taken with these fine drills to avoid exerting great pressure on the drill tip.

The cobalt-alloyed drills with diameters between 3mm and 5mm are, among other things, very suitable for drilling stainless steel connecting strips in order to screw them reliably to a kitchen worktop. The HSS-E drills with diameters of 5mm to 8mm are often used by car mechanics or hobby tuners, for example. Among other things, they are used to drill holes in stainless steel motorbike mudguards in order to screw them securely to the mudguard clips and brackets. The drills with larger diameters between 8mm and 10mm are often used in mechanical engineering, for example, for drilling holes in solid machine components made of high-alloy structural steels in order to connect them securely and firmly to each other by screwing or riveting.

WARNING: For impact drills, the setting should be set to drilling without impact to avoid damaging the drill bits.
