Description

PVC sheets in grey from 100% virgin material - Made in Germany

Our PVC sheets in grey are made of hard PVC (do not contain any so-called softeners) and are similar to the colour RAL7011 (iron grey). The available thickness of our rigid PVC sheets is between 2mm and 15mm. The grey colour RAL7011 is slightly lighter than the classic colour anthracite RAL7016. Our rigid PVC sheets are coloured throughout in this shade of grey, so that the cut edges also have the same colour as the surface of the sheet. The surface of our grey PVC sheets is smooth, semi-glossy and is supplied as a technical plastic without protective film, so that we do not recommend its use for optical purposes. Our PVC sheets are solid sheets made of solid core material and not plastic sheets with foamed core.

Characteristics of our dark grey PVC sheets

PVC has good chemical resistance and high stiffness. The temperature range in which the plastic polyvinyl chloride can be permanently used is between -10°C and +60°C. Our sheets are hard, dimensionally stable sheets made of grey rigid PVC, with normal impact strength and electrically insulating properties and are therefore mainly used in the construction and electrical industries. Our PVC sheets are self-extinguishing after the removal of the flame and correspond to the fire protection standard DIN 4102 B1 (flame-retardant) in the thicknesses 1mm - 4mm.

Approvals for rigid PVC in grey

  • DIN 4102 B1 flame-retardant with thicknesses of 1mm - 4mm (General building authority test certificate)
  • UL 94 V0 from a thickness of 1mm
  • NF P 92-501 M1 with thicknesses of 1mm - 3mm
  • BS 476 class 1 for the thickness of 3mm

Standards for rigid PVC in Grey

  • REACH (EU Chemicals regulation)
  • RoHS (Regulation banning hazardous substances in the electrical industry)
  • PAK (Directive on compliance with limit values for polyaromatic hydrocarbons)

We deliver your rigid PVC sheets directly to you in the size you require.

With our cut-to-size configurator, you can order your grey rigid PVC cut-to-size products online. Simply select the desired thickness and enter the dimensions you require for length and width in millimetres, as well as the desired quantity. Thanks to our computer-controlled panel saws, with a very low sawing tolerance of only +/-1mm, the cutting of your PVC panels is accurate to the millimetre. The dispatch usually takes place within 2 - 3 working days, because we always have grey hard PVC in all thicknesses in our warehouse in sufficient quantities.

On request, we can also produce individual milled parts from rigid PVC.

We have modern 3-axis CNC milling machines, which enable us to manufacture your PVC moulded parts exactly according to your specifications. This also enables us to produce complex moulds from rigid PVC. Please send us your individual enquiry, stating the required quantity, as well as a sketch, to receive an individual offer. All information about our milling service can be found here.

Processing of rigid PVC in grey

Sheets made of rigid PVC can be processed by all common chip removing methods such as milling, sawing, drilling or turning. For sawing, it is sufficient to use a conventional saw blade for wood processing. In order to avoid burns when sawing PVC, the speed of rotation should be set quite low, as hydrochloric acid is produced when PVC burns. For drilling holes, we recommend simple metal drills and a comparatively low speed. Here hand soap as a lubricant can help to prevent burns of the material. Our PVC sheets can also be easily water jet cut or punched to give the plastic sheet the desired shape.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a thermoplastic and as such has the ability to be thermoformed, such as hot moulding or thermoforming, as is currently used in the industrial processing of PVC to produce finished plastic parts.

PVC sheets can be laminated with a film or covered with a digital print. But also direct printing on PVC sheets is possible (at this point we recommend for a perfect print image our white rigid PVC sheets PVC can also be lacquered, but for more demanding applications, pre-treatment with a primer is advisable.

Our plastic sheets made of grey PVC can be welded with a suitable PVC welding wire, but can also be glued together excellently. For bonding PVC we offer in our shop the crystal clear curing plastic adhesive Ruderer L530, which is perfectly suitable for bonding PVC with PVC and other plastics (except PTFE, PE and PP). If you want to bond PVC sheets to other materials, such as concrete or other materials used in the building sector, we recommend our construction adhesive Parabond 600 in grey, which is characterised by its enormous adhesive strength and very high initial adhesion.

TIP: PVC sheets should not be processed on CO² laser equipment, as the burning of PVC produces hydrochloric acid which immediately attacks all parts of the laser equipment. All metal parts of the system would rust immediately after contact with hydrochloric acid.
