The mahogany-brown silicone SILIKONprofi of our own brand S-Polybond is a permanently elastic sealant which is characterised by its enormous resistance to ageing and weathering and is therefore ideal for permanent outdoor applications. Since the neutral-curing alkoxy silicone in dark brown does not cause any unpleasant odours during processing and curing and is also absolutely free of MEKOs, it can also be used indoors without hesitation.

The low-maintenance silicone in RAL 8016 adheres excellently to almost all conceivable materials, even without the use of primers, and is equally well suited for sealing, caulking or simple bonding. Regular checks during and after production ensure consistent quality in terms of colour, viscosity and elasticity. The enormous elastic properties ensure first-class durability, even on materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion. Properties of the mahogany brown alkoxy-based silicone

Because of its excellent resistance to UV radiation and all weathering influences, our silicone in mahogany brown is perfectly suited for ageing-resistant sealing in outdoor areas. With an enormous temperature resistance of -50°C to +150°C, permanently elastic sealing protection is ensured, even in deep frost or intense heat due to intensive sunlight. There is no risk of premature cracking due to embrittlement or fading of the dark brown joints. This results in a considerable reduction in time and costs for building maintenance, because premature renewal of the maintenance joints is reliably avoided with our long-lasting sealant.

Our dark brown alkoxy silicone has been classified as particularly low-emission according to the VOC emission class, with the top grade A+, and is characterised by almost odourless processing. In contrast to acetic-curing acetate sealants, which cause a strong and unpleasant vinegar smell, our neutral-curing sealant can be used indoors without any problems. This is even possible in rather poorly ventilated interiors, because no 2-butanone oximes are split off during the application and curing of our absolutely MEKO-free silicone in RAL 8016. These so-called MEKOs are suspected of promoting the development of cancer cells and are released by conventional OXIM silicones.

In indoor rooms, the risk of mould formation increases with the level of humidity. Since the food basis of these allergy-causing spores is moisture, damp rooms are particularly affected. Thanks to its fungicidal finish, our premium silicone in dark brown is perfect for sealing and caulking in sanitary facilities, kitchens, basement rooms and wherever hygienic sealing protection with mould-inhibiting properties is required.

The mahogany-brown premium silicone of our own brand S-Polybond is manufactured according to the RAL colour system and has a consistent and uniform dark brown pigmentation with a slight red tinge typical of mahogany. Thanks to the clear identification of the colour shades with a four-digit colour code, the international colour catalogue according to RAL enables a simple and quick selection of colour-matching materials. It does not matter whether you are looking for lacquers, wall paints, plastics or adhesives. Processing of the silicone SILIKONprofi in mahogany brown

Our premium silicone in RAL 8016 is extremely easy to work with thanks to its perfectly balanced pasty consistency. Regardless of whether it is to be used for sealing, waterproofing or simple bonding, it is important to prepare the surfaces well for optimum durability. These should be thoroughly cleaned of dirt, dust, grease and oil in advance and then dried well with a lint-free cloth. For cleaning, the use of conventional vinegar or citrus cleaners is recommended, whereas cleaning oils or corrosive silicone removers can negatively influence the adhesion of the dark brown silicone. In addition, the processing temperature at the workplace should not exceed or fall below +5°C to +30°C.

As soon as the surfaces to be sealed or caulked are clean and dry, you can start applying the sealant. The silicone in mahogany brown is applied to the joint in a fluid motion and in sufficient quantity using a commercial cartridge gun. In the subsequent smoothing process, excess material is removed with a joint smoother, thus achieving optimum flank adhesion and a smooth joint surface. By using a suitable smoothing agent, the removal can be simplified and the appearance can be further perfected. The cross-linking of our alkoxy silicone in RAL 8016 takes place with contact to the air humidity and starts after a time of approx. 10 minutes, which also corresponds to the working time.

Our adhesive and sealant in mahogany brown is also very suitable for bonding parts with a large bonding surface or a relatively low own weight. For this purpose, the silicone should be applied selectively to the surfaces to be bonded. The parts to be joined are then fixed in their final position and pressed together under high pressure until the dark brown adhesive has fully cured. The use of an assembly adhesive is recommended for demanding bonding of objects on which a strong tensile force is exerted or heavyweight joining parts.
