Our threaded sleeves in anthracite (RAL 7016) are made of solid A2 stainless steel, whose flat head has a UV- and weather-resistant head lacquer finish in anthracite. The colour, which corresponds to RAL fan K5-Classic, has a satin gloss level that is exactly matched to the surface decor of our anthracite grey custom-made HPL panels. The head diameter is 14mm, 6mm higher than the sleeve diameter of 8mm. The length of the sleeve is 12mm and is provided with an internal thread in the size M5, so that all our balcony screws, regardless of length or colour, can be used for screwing. A special 2-component adhesive ensures extremely reliable protection against the screw connection loosening by itself.

NOTE: It is not necessary for the threaded sleeves in anthracite to be combined exclusively with anthracite grey balcony screws. Basically, any screw can be used as long as it has an M5 size thread. The drive, the shape and colour of the screw head, as well as the length of the screw thread, however, only play a role in relation to the area of application.

Mounting with a nut and bolt is not always desirable. Especially not if you can bump or even injure yourself on the protruding thread. Although the use of a cap nut can also prevent you from scratching the thread, the high projection of a cap nut is not always a perfect solution. This is where threaded sleeves come into play, where the thread to accept the screw is located inside the profile to which the fairing panels are attached. This allows for a very flat sleeve head with a thickness of around 2mm, which results in a very flat, almost transition-free installation. The anthracite grey powder coating of the head also ensures a very inconspicuous fixing visually.

Properties of the anthracite grey stainless steel threaded sleeve

The anthracite grey threaded sleeves, like the corresponding balcony screws, are made of high-quality A2 stainless steel and are provided with a scratch-resistant powder coating for visually inconspicuous installation of anthracite grey surfaces, panels and profiles. A2 steel is an extremely corrosion-resistant steel alloy that is unconditionally suitable for all outdoor applications. The sleeve with an M5 internal thread has an outer diameter of 8mm and a length of 12mm. The flat, slightly lenticular head with a diameter of 14mm has a height of approx. 2mm, resulting in a total height of the sleeve of approx. 14mm. For easier screwing, a bit or a Torx key in size T20 is required, which prevents the sleeve from turning due to the thread adhesive when the screw is screwed in.

Anthracite grey is a dark, intense shade of grey that fades quite quickly if it lacks UV stability due to sunlight. To counteract this, we rely on a very high-quality powder coating for the head lacquering of our threaded sleeve in anthracite grey, which is characterised by excellent UV and weather resistance. The colour of the scratch-resistant lacquer coating corresponds to RAL7016, whereby the gloss intensity is matched to the decorative surfaces of our silk matt HPL panels in anthracite cut, as is also the case with our matching balcony screws with M5 thread, or our HPL facade screws with coarse thread, which, however, are not suitable for screwing into the threaded sleeve.

The anthracite grey threaded sleeves are often used in combination with our head-painted balcony screws for the construction of balcony cladding and stair guardrails. It is important that the screw connection holds reliably and does not loosen over time due to shocks and vibrations. To prevent this from happening, we use a special two-component adhesive as a screw lock. This is applied to the internal thread of the threaded sleeve. When the screw is screwed into the sleeve, the tiny glass bodies containing the hardener component of the adhesive break, thus setting the chemical hardening process in motion. Once the adhesive has hardened, independent loosening or loosening of the screw is impossible, so that a permanently secure mounting of panels on appropriate substructures is ensured.

NOTE: A two-component adhesive serves as a thread locker. Once this has hardened and the screw connection is later loosened, the threaded sleeve must either be replaced or a screw locking varnish must be applied to ensure that the screw is secured again, if this is necessary.

Use of threaded sleeve in anthracite

The threaded sleeves with head lacquering in anthracite grey are in most cases combined with a balcony screw and used for mounting privacy screens or balcony and stair guardrails. For mounting on square profiles made of stainless steel, we therefore also offer Balcony screw sets with threaded sleeve in anthracite grey at favourable prices, which also include a spacer sleeve made of grey polyethylene, which is used for the constraint-free assembly of HPL panels or aluminium composite panels. The single threaded sleeve is therefore also excellent as a replacement, especially if a screw connection has been loosened and screw locking is urgently required. However, the M5 internal thread of the sleeve is compatible with any conventional screw with an M5 internal thread, which increases the possible applications many times over.

There is hardly an area in which anthracite is not popular. From façade cladding and balcony surrounds, to window profiles, fencing and garden gates, to interior design in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms and bedrooms. The possibilities for using the threaded sleeve in combination with a threaded screw are as versatile as the areas of application. For example, to fasten a privacy fence to steel posts, to firmly connect cupboard elements in the kitchen, or to screw heavy garden gates with robust hinges to the outer posts. Because they are made of stainless steel and have a UV- and weather-resistant anthracite grey head lacquer, there are almost no limits to the possible applications of the threaded sleeves. The only requirement is that the sleeve with a length of 12mm can be fully inserted so that the flat head rests completely on the surface. It should also be noted that the clamping range of the screw connection is increased by one to a maximum of five millimetres through the use of a threaded sleeve. Based on a balcony screw with a thread size of M5x35mm, this results in a clamping range of 36mm to 40mm.
