Transparent PVC-glass sheets - flame retardant and without plasticiser

Our plastic sheets made of transparent rigid PVC (PVC glass) have a standard format of 2,0x1,0 metres and are available in thicknesses from 1,0mm to 15,0mm. The PVC sheets have an excellent transparency and a very pronounced surface gloss. To protect against scratches and damage that could occur before and during processing, they are equipped with a protective film on both sides. Our transparent sheets are hard PVC, which is completely free of plasticisers such as phthalates, and are made of 100% virgin material. The PVC sheets manufactured in Germany are made of solid solid core material and are not hollow chamber sheets or double-webbed sheets and contain no foamed core.

Characteristics of our PVC glass sheets

Like all our rigid PVC sheets, the transparent version of our sheets is outstanding in terms of rigidity, hardness and dimensional stability. With normal impact strength and good chemical resistance, the transparent PVC sheets are suitable for a wide range of applications. Our rigid PVC has several approvals with regard to fire protection regulations and, depending on the thickness, corresponds to fire protection class B1 according to DIN4102 (flame-retardant). Our transparent PVC does not drip in the flame and is self-extinguishing once the flame is removed.

• NFP 92-501 M1 with thicknesses of 1mm-3mm

Our transparent plastic sheets made of rigid PVC are not UV-resistant. If you want to use transparent plastic sheets for outdoor applications, we recommend our weatherproof sheets made of scratch-resistant acrylic glass, or our UV-resistant polycarbonate sheets. However, these sheets do not meet the fire protection class according to DIN4102 B1 (flame-retardant).

Processing of rigid PVC in transparent

Our standard rigid PVC sheets can be cut to size in many different ways. The transparent sheets can be brought into the desired shape and size using water jet cutting equipment, punching machines, or by sawing, milling or turning. Drilling PVC is also no problem and can be done with a conventional metal drill. In general, a low rotational speed should be observed when using machining methods to avoid burning the material, which can cause hydrochloric acid to form.

As a thermoplastic material, our transparent rigid PVC can also be excellently thermoformed or deep-drawn. Thanks to thermoforming, transparent finished plastic parts can be produced in almost any conceivable shape. For thermoforming, the protective film on both sides should be removed.

Transparent rigid PVC can be labelled with foil plotter, or fully covered with foil or a digital print. To make the PVC sheets in transparent design usable for outdoor use, they can also be laminated with a UV-resistant protective film. Direct printing on the transparent sheet is also possible and is used especially in the production of illuminated displays.

TIP: PVC sheets should not be processed on CO² laser equipment, as the burning of PVC produces hydrochloric acid which immediately attacks all parts of the laser equipment. All metal parts of the system would rust immediately after contact with hydrochloric acid.
