Our SDS plus hammer drills with 4 cutting edges from Bohrcraft are characterised by excellent quality. The drill head made of solid carbide with a centring tip for easier positioning of the drill bit works effortlessly through clinker, sand-lime bricks or concrete. In order to meet the strict quality requirements of the construction industry, the drills have the PGM test mark, which stands for tested quality in terms of drill hole diameter and roundness of the hole. The very long service life compared to conventional masonry drills satisfies even the most demanding craftsman, so that the drill can be used for much longer before it has to be replaced.
The special feature of these special SDS hammer drills is that they can also be used with reinforced concrete without fear of direct dulling or annealing of the drill when it hits rebar. To make this possible, the drill has 4 cutting edges instead of 2, as is usual with simple hammer drills. The drill dust is conveyed out of the drill hole via the generous 4-fold spiral, which on the one hand allows higher drilling speeds and on the other hand also makes sustained drilling less tiring. This is a decisive advantage that is particularly useful for large-area installation of façade substructures or for the installation of cable trays.
Buy our hammer drills with 4-fold cutting edge already from a single drill bit in any quantity and benefit from our generous quantity discounts.
NOTE: The hammer drills with SDS Plus holders are not compatible with hammer drills that have SDS Max or SDS Quick holders.
NOTE: The Additional Information tab lists all the detailed information about the selected drill.
Drills with an SDS plus holder transmit power almost without loss. This is also the reason why this mounting system has become established with most well-known manufacturers of impact drills. Hammer drills are suitable for drilling into masonry made of clinker, sand-lime bricks, aerated concrete, concrete or even roof tiles in order to drill holes for fastenings. As a rule, simple masonry drills with a double-edged drill head are sufficient. If, on the other hand, drilling is to be carried out in reinforced concrete, this can certainly be done with simple hammer drills, but there is a risk that the drill head will become blunt as soon as it encounters the steel struts contained in the concrete. This is where our drill with quadruple drill head can convince. Especially when it is not possible to change the position of the drill hole in order to ensure a secure installation at specified fastening points.
While the 5mm or also the 6mm drill bit in 110mm total length is usually sufficient in length for many areas of application, such as the mounting of pictures, plastic clamps or also lighting, the hold can be improved by the use of long impact dowels or longer screws. Particularly with porous materials such as aerated concrete, a longer dowel can significantly increase the tensile strength of the fastening. To enable such installations, we also offer the hammer drills in 160mm total length at favourable prices.
When mounting load-bearing constructions for façade cladding or heavy cable platforms, a 6mm drill bit is usually not sufficient. For this purpose, we also offer the concrete drill in larger diameters, so that the right drill is available for every type of fastening, which is to be carried out by screwing with dowels or impact anchors. We attach great importance to maximum quality. The SDS plus hammer drill bits from Bohrcraft are manufactured in Germany and are characterised by a consistent roundness of the drill hole, as well as the drill hole diameter. The PGM test mark as certification in accordance with the information sheet of the German Institute for Construction Technology not only confirms the high quality of our drill bit, but also has the decisive advantage that liability risks from assembly connections are reduced, provided that proper assembly is carried out with dowels that comply with the CE guidelines and EA guidelines.
NOTE: Depending on the intensity and use of the drill, the diameter or the quality of the roundness can deteriorate in the long term. Although this is less likely to happen quickly than with conventional hammer drills with two cutting edges, even the highest-quality drill will reach the end of its service life at some point, so that the drill should be replaced if the quality of the drill hole deteriorates in order to ensure secure fastenings at all times.
