The threaded sleeve in light grey (RAL 7035) is made of high-quality A2 stainless steel and has a UV- and weather-resistant head lacquer in light grey, the colour and gloss level of which is matched to the corresponding HPL panels in our shop. The head diameter is 14mm with a Torx drive in size T20. The sleeve, which is inserted into the profile or workpiece, measures 8mm in diameter and 12mm in depth. The painted sleeves with an M5 internal thread are primarily used as a replacement for loosened screw connections of a balcony screw set with threaded sleeve and is provided with a special thread adhesive as a reliable screw lock. Due to the stainless steel, the threaded sleeve can be used without hesitation both indoors and outdoors.

NOTE: The light grey lacquered threaded sleeve can be combined with all our balcony screws, regardless of their colour or thread length.

The flat head of the threaded sleeve is only 2mm and, unlike a hexagon nut or a cap nut, does not protrude and is therefore almost flush with the surface. This is particularly practical for privacy partitions on balconies, partition walls in public buildings and larger offices, or when screwing cabinet bodies together. Due to the head lacquering of the threaded sleeve, in combination with a balcony screw in the same colour, a tone-in-tone assembly of light grey panel material is possible.

Properties of the light grey stainless steel threaded sleeve

The threaded sleeves consist of a sleeve with M5 internal thread with a depth of 12mm and an external diameter of 8mm. The flat screw head, which is slightly lenticular on the upper side, has an internal hexagon drive, which enables easy processing of the threaded sleeve with optimum torque transmission. For countering or screwing the threaded sleeve, the a Torx wrench or bit insert size T20 (ISR20) is required. The diameter of the screw head is 14mm. To ensure that the threaded sleeve can be used without hesitation for outdoor applications, we use a high-quality A2 steel alloy in its manufacture. This is a stainless steel with very good corrosion resistance.

The head of the threaded sleeve has a scratch-resistant powder coating in light grey (RAL 7035), which is identical to the balcony screws, either as a set or individually, and the façade screws in light grey. The colour tone and the discreet gloss effect are exactly matched to the corresponding HPL sheets in our shop. The colour is UV and weather resistant, so that there is no need to fear yellowing of the light grey tone even in intensive sunlight.

To prevent the screw connection from loosening by itself, the internal thread of the threaded sleeve is equipped with a screw lock. This is a special two-component adhesive in which the hardening component is contained in tiny glass bodies. These break when the screw is screwed in, so that the chemical hardening of the adhesive is set in motion. This makes the threaded sleeves, which we also sell in a set with the corresponding screws, ideal for fastening privacy screens and balcony surrounds to square profiles.

NOTE: If the screw connection is loosened, the threaded sleeve must be replaced or a thread locking varnish must be applied.

Use of threaded sleeve in light grey

The threaded sleeve in light grey is used for the inconspicuous screwing of light grey panel material, boards, battens or furniture. As a rule, these are used in combination with PE spacer sleeve and balcony screw for fastening HPL panels as balcony fall protection, the assembly of which we describe on the product page of the light grey balcony screw sets with threaded sleeve in more detail. Alternatively, it is also possible to screw two furniture walls, fence boards, slats or even two steel profiles together. Our balcony screws are also a very good choice for this.

In order to be able to insert the threaded sleeve completely, a profile depth or board thickness of at least 12mm is necessary. The hole should be drilled on the side of the threaded sleeve with a diameter of 8.5mm. The appropriate screw length results from the required clamping range, but it must be taken into account here that the thread length of the screw should be somewhat shorter. The clamping range is calculated from the thread length of the screw plus 1-5mm thread depth of the sleeve. With an M5x20mm screw, this results in a clamping range of 21mm-25mm.
