With our laser parts made of acrylic glass in transparent design, we offer you the possibility to conveniently order acrylic glass sheets online in almost any shape. Our laser cuts are made of solid acrylic glass and can be laser cut in different thicknesses from 2.0mm to 10.0mm up to a maximum format of 1500mmx980mm. Our acrylic sheets are always high-quality solid-core sheets and not hollow-core or double-skin sheets. They are manufactured in Germany and comply with the REACH and RoHS declaration of conformity.

NOTE: Our acrylic sheets are equipped with an easily removable protective film on both sides to protect the surfaces from scratching before and during processing.

What is transparent acrylic

Acrylic glass (better known to most under the brand name Plexiglas®) is a UV-resistant, weatherproof plastic that is equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Thanks to the high surface hardness, our transparent acrylic glass, in contrast to the also transparent polycarbonate, is characterised by a relatively scratch-resistant surface, but due to the brittleness of the plastic, it is sensitive in terms of breaking behaviour, so that acrylic glass can break in the event of impacts or blows.

• Transparent acrylic glass is weatherproof and UV-resistant and therefore easily suitable for outdoor applications

• Transparent acrylic glass can be used permanently at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C

In contrast to conventional cuts on our panel saws, the cut edges of the laser parts do not have a saw-rough surface. By cutting with our powerful CO2 laser systems, the laser edges are evenly smooth. This is a great advantage, especially when laser cutting transparent acrylic glass, because the surfaces of the cut edges are clear and transparent. This also has an effect on the high-quality appearance, especially of company signs or transparent shelves and doors of showcases and cabinets.

The biggest advantage compared to cutting on our panel saws, however, is that you are not limited to rectangular formats, but basically any shape can be laser-cut from our acrylic glass panels. Even complex cut-outs in all imaginable shapes, including letters, are possible without further ado.

For this purpose, 14 basic shapes are available, each with corresponding input fields to adapt the basic shape to your specific needs. From simple rectangles, rectangles with rounded corners, circles, circular rings, ellipses or triangles, to polygons with any number of corners, hardly any wish remains unfulfilled. Even the placement of holes can be done with a few clicks, depending on the selected basic shape.

Your entries are displayed in real time in a small preview so that you can see your laser shape immediately after entering it and change it if necessary. The price calculation of your acrylic laser parts also takes place as soon as all the necessary input fields have been filled in and adapts to your entries at any time.

NOTE: The maximum size of our laser parts made of transparent acrylic glass is limited to 1500mm x 980mm due to the design of our CO2 laser systems. Larger formats can only be produced by conventional rectangular cutting on our CNC panel saws.

Post-processing of laser parts made of transparent acrylic glass

Similar to conventional cuts from our transparent acrylic glass sheets, our laser cuts can also be processed further without any problems. All cutting methods such as sawing, milling or grinding are available for this purpose. Drilling acrylic glass is also possible. However, it should be noted that the acrylic glass sheet should lie flat so that it does not flutter during sawing or drilling, which can result in chipping or cracking.

Lettering with a film or digital print is also possible with transparent acrylic glass. For a particularly visually appealing effect, the lettering can be applied to the back of the lasered acrylic glass panel. However, it should be noted that the inscription must be applied mirror-inverted.

WARNING: Laser parts made of transparent acrylic glass must not be cleaned with alcohol or bonded with solvent-based adhesives (e.g.: our S-Polybond PMMAprofi), as this can cause stress cracks to form at the laser edges.

With our laser part configurator, the most common shapes for configuring your individual laser parts made of acrylic glass in transparent are available and the placement of hole drillings is also possible via our input fields, but more complex shapes, individually placed hole drillings or even cut-outs in certain shapes cannot be easily generated online.
